Every Final Fantasy game except VII. I usually start them up all 'Wow, this is Final Fantasy, this is going to be soo cool.' Then three hours later I just get bored with the plot or sick of the irritating characters and put it down.

I picked up Dark Void for the jet pack awesomeness, but I got about halfway through the game to this escort mission and the game kept failing me even when the dude I'm supposed to be protecting was still alive, so I never finished that.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, because I wanted free-roam web-slinging goodness and got a mediocre action game instead.

Oh, and Bioshock. I got it because everyone and their dog was raving about how great it was, but I could never bring myself to finish it, no matter how many times I tried. I'd get X far and just get bored.

That came out, what? Ten days ago? yeah that doesn't count since some people can't finish a game that length for at least two weeks.
A modern shooter takes 8-10 hours, tops. Most people can knock them off in a weekend, and the shorter ones in a single sitting.

I'll be honest, I'm still playing Amnesia after god knows how long. I mean, I play it for 45 minutes or so, and then I stop playing for a few weeks until I have another crack at it. Maybe I should stop playing it past midnight...

That's when I stopped too (and I'd already done that "Holy Knight pilgrimage thing", finished the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild, gained access to Black Soul gems and enchanting altars ... there really wasn't much left that interested me).

OT: FFX-2 and the Witcher, both because of the combat. Dragon Age Origins, because of the combat (combined with that 'RPG' thing of only being able to have a single build, and that's not even getting to the limited experience thing).

Nah, don't do that. That's the only proper way to play the game. Or at least the only way I could play it, inured horror fan that I am.

Hey, some people actually follow that "take a fifteen minute break every hour." deal, that tends to stretch it out a bit. Not me, of course I think my record is playing for 15 hours straight.

Psychonauts - really like the game but got stuck on the "controller snapping difficulty" of the end like Yahtzee mentioned. It will be on my bucket list.

Dragon Age - Looks great and has some really good writing but just not enough for me to do in combat. Tried twice.

Fallout 2 - Bugged. Got to the NCR fort and game crashed when I leave to do a side quest.

Crysis - not squirrelly enough to play FPS games well.

I always went out of my way to avoid completing the main story in Oblivion. When I accidentally stumbled into Kvatch, I promptly turned around and walked away.

And Red Dead Redemption. It just dragged on FOR EVERRRR.
You could skip that whole part actually...
Doing it just upgrades your allies for the big battle that happens right after...

Deus Ex. It just couldn't get into it.

I'd normally run away after saying such a thing, but I think I've just caused everyone to start installing the game again, which makes them too busy to hunt me down. :p

The Witcher, I got up to the 3rd chapter and just had no motivation to finish it, the combat was boring, and to be completely honest, scaled terribly. There were enemies who I could slaughter en' mass and those who would slaughter me without a second thought. Not to mention I found the story to be paced terribly and as such I couldn't get into it.

To be honest I could rant for pages on what was wrong with that game including alchemy, spell system, level up, quest system. But I think you get the point.

Luckily I picked it up on steam for $5 or so, so it didn't bother me that much but it certainly stopped me from purchasing it's sequel no matter how good the reviews.

-Command & Conquer 4: Because it was terribad. Biggest disappointment of 2010 for me, especially since I used it to break in my first new computer in 7 years.
This.

This. This. This.

I feel your pain, Croutons. I've been a crazy C&C fan since I was 7, and my best friend and I battled each other in Command & Conquer over our dial-up modems.

I even liked C&C 3. I thought EA did a pretty solid job of continuing to series, even if the game was a little buggy from time to time and it did take two minutes to save a game. I also thought Kane's Wrath did an amazing job of bringing RTS controls to a console. The gameplay was crazy smooth, and I loved the siege multiplayer game type both games had.

Then, C&C 4 came out. I don't know who's idea it was to get rid of tiered building and tech trees, but I hope they got fired. I hope they got fired a lot.

*sigh* I'll never forget the day I had to look up the Command & Conquer wiki to see how the series ended.

Oh, well.
Out of curiosity, what's your thought on Victory studios? Rumor has it that they are going to *try* and make a new C&C and do it right. I too enjoyed C&C 3, it won't live up to Westwood's standards but I didn't expect it too. Honestly I expected EA to defecate all over it, but I feel that they did as good as not-Westwood could have done with the game. I even liked RA3 for all it's quirks though it probably should have served as a warning that EA was playing with the formula in the wrong ways.

Oh, also - American McGee's Grimm. I may be cheating since it was episodic and I did finish an episode or two, but I didn't finish the whole series. I liked the art, the weirdo humour, all that stuff - it's just that the gameplay was entertaining for 5 minutes at the most and ultimately I just ended up watching the cliff-notes versions on YouTube for later episodes.

Oblivion: too complicated for me. I usually stay away from WRPGs because there's just too much going on at any given time. I'm really not a multi tasker.

Little Big Planet: Shit controls.

Lair: Shit Controls even after getting patched.

Lost Odyssey: Lost interest after disk 2

Alone In The Dark: Shit controls, drab levels and cheap enemies.

Devil May Cry 4: INSANE amount of back tracking. And playing as Dante wasn't as good as playing as Nero for me.

Myst IV Revelations: I consider myself an adventure game aficionado but that game was ridiculous. I don't know how the shit the creators intended people to solve those puzzles and this is coming from soneone who finished the first 3 myst games with little to no help.

I BARELY finished Mass Effect. It became boring as hell towards the end. But I went ahead and bought ME2. >_>

Final Fantasy VIII - Just could not get into it. At all. IDK why. Love 7, 9, X, X-2... Hate 8.
May I suggest time compression as a reason *rolls eyes*

Personally I can't finish about 2/3 of the games I start. I game hop. Or you could just say I have gaming ADD.

Most recently, I started and didn't finish Super Mario Galaxy, Kinect Sports, NHL 10, Kung Fu Panda, X-Men: The Official Movie Game, Ninety-Nine Nights, Ace Combat 2, and Dragon Age: Origins (although that last one is my second playthrough the game)

EDIT:

Come to think of it, I seem to have the opposite problem. I like too many games just enough to try them but then something new and shiny comes along and ...
I'm with you on the gamer ADD just picking up fallout vegas again to try and finish, but i -never- finish anything, especially rpgs. I spent all my time finding and looting everything and wind up max level before 1/3rd through the story, at least the first fallout that happened, and looks to be on par for vegas. (I suppose finishing the original 2 count? maybe since they had less distraction and time limits on things)

I loved KZ2!

I just couldn't finish Alan Wake and I commend myself for sticking with it until the final chapter, it was just so boring and unscary-an interesting idea where you pick up pages from your manuscript which explain events that have or will occur but sadly it ruined the game: "And thats when I heard the chainsaw"-(cue chainsaw reving) Oh wow, that totally got me by surprise >_>

I also can't seem to start S.T.A.L.K.E.R without getting bored 10 mins in, which is bizarre because on paper it sounds like a perfect game for me.

Just Cause 2.

People tell me that it's a crazy fun action open world game... and yet the tutorial was so boring, I never bothered with the rest of the game.

Too Human. Its. Just. Filled. With. Shit. Too many bad decisions and mechanics. Getting health back is near impossible, enemies NEVER EVER drop healing orbs when you need one, only when you are already have full health. Nothing is explained. This weapon is effective vs., nope. This effect does this, never explained what it does. If it had been like God of war/Ninja Gaiden, THEN it might have worked better.

Oblivion. Well, never found myself completing main quest missions.
