FF7 and 8. I know I'll get the wrath of God for dissing 7 but I just couldn't get into it. I played through the entire first act of the game, the city crashed, I went to a chocobo farm, and pretty much just walked away from the game after that. Maybe one day that vile temptress will lure me back in and change my mind. I don't expect 8 will be so lucky. That was the day I realized that all of Final Fantasy's best days were behind it. The Super Nintendo era was truly the height of Square's lifespan, with FF4-6 and Chrono Trigger. All completely awesome.
More recently, Tigg'r PGA 08. I played the new online game when it was just a beta, and had fun with it, then they started charging for 75% of the content and it was easy to get bored when suddenly I couldn't go mining for achievements. So I picked up 08 super-cheap, I thought it's only a couple years old, under five bucks, how can I go wrong? Easily. The menus are horrific, the load times are unbearable, EVEN BETWEEN MENU SCREENS, and the best testament to the realism they achieve is that - just like in real life - you think you're doing the exact same motions the exact same way but the results are wildly different and make you want to punch your TV.
Mega Man and Bass for the GBA. I actually played all the way through to the last boss before, but picking it up again recently, I have no idea how. In order to make the graphics not-too-small for the screen, they zoom in. But that means you only see about 2/3 of the play area. It makes some bosses pretty much impossible to beat cause you don't know where they are.
Metal Arms seemed like a good game and got decent reviews, but the controls are just unmanageable. I like the game but I don't like fighting the controller and the camera at the same time. Sorry.
