Just to be clear: I dont mean the whole Xcom fiasco, I mean what game that you cant get off the shelves unless its a lucky pre-owned game would you like to see brought back, maybe with a little graphical and audio updating, but with all of the gameplay, story, mechanics and themes left intact?

Mine would be dungeon keeper, I had fun on my old computer luring hero's into some heavily trapped hallway and then dropping a LV.10 bile demon on their heads for good measure and the voiceovers for the "Improvements" on areas were so darkly humored it was great; "There is nothing left here but a very persistent stain on the ground which your troll's are attempting to remove before we spray acid across it" lol

I tried to download it to my laptop recently and due to an accidental disconection during download only the before and after voiceovers got through along with some unusable on their own files.

So what are yours? Add as few or as many as you like :)
I would love Dungeon Keeper to come back.... I want to play it now that you mentioned it, I have got the gold edition somewhere.

There aren't many other games that I can think of so I will just go for rarer games that aren't necessarily hard to find but I want with updated graphics;

- Ridge Racer Type 4: Probably the shortest racing game ever but had so much replay-ability and a kick ass soundtrack

- Medieval: I loved the theme of this game, would love to see it with updated gameplay

- Croc: Such a fun adventure game...

Does no one remember the awesomeness of Eternal Darkness anymore? :(

Honestly, though, I'm kind of on the fence about whether I want it or not, since most modern sequels to classics (Starfox series, Other M, Final Fantasy) have been colossal amalgamations of misery and suck.

I guess the question is: Would you really trust the canon of your favorites to today's gaming industry?

The correct answer to this question would be StarCraft: Ghost.

I was so pumped for that game when it was in production.
well, this. but as for me i can think of a couple. i would like to see a graphical update of KOTOR, as well as star wars, galactic battlegrounds, but with some fiddling with the factions so that they dont all use the EXACT SAME UNITS. i just remember having fun with that game.

also, the original starcraft. the game looks absolutely horrid, but it had a good story and good gameplay. probably because this was before kotik got his grubby hands on it. (i dont care if he has nothing to do with it, ITS ALWAYS HIS FAULT)

finally, the original deus ex, and thief. im kinda particular about graphics unless i have nostalgia for the old games, but i heard these had some bitchin' gameplay and stories and such. would love to enjoy them

You mean just re-vamp the whole graphics?

Definitely Naval Ops: Warship Gunner. One of my favorite games for PS2, but the graphics kinda suck. It would look so much more impressive with modern day graphics.

Haegemonia: Legions of Iron, superb space based RTS, it is in the "sold out" range, but I would love to see a revamp or a actual sequel.

I'd also like a Dynasty Tactics 3, or a Dynasty Tactics 2 that I can play on my PS3, I love that game
Luckily I still have a working copy of Haegemonia, awesome game.

The new Wing Commander "Trilogy" that was cancelled after it's first part Prophecy. That games were so great.
Oh and Privateer, of course Privateer.
The Wing Commander Series was a staple of my PC gaming life up until they stopped being produced. Of all the games I have played I miss Wing Commander the most.

Broken Sword. THQ messed up Angel of Death with the whole not-being-compatible-with-modern-processors issue but I don't think that should be the end of a legendary franchise.

Whoever gives the world Timesplitters 4 will instantly become my favourite developer ever and I will send them lots and lots of cakes.
Didn't the former devs of Timesplitters get bought out by Cyrtek? I remember they were working on Crysis 2's multiplayer and Crytek was thinking about letting them go ahead and make TS4 if Crysis 2 sold enough or something to that affect
but other than TS4 I kind think of two other series
Star Wars battle front 3
Metal Arms: Glitch in the system, it was made by the guys who were going to make starcraft ghost, btw.

This. I love that game to bits, but it's cutscenes could use a lot of work. There would be a tense/awesome moment and BAM! something unrelated, and it didn't mesh at all. More of the more subtle insanity effects would be awesome, too. Having the characters' animations match if they were saying something (like "this. Isn't. Really happening!") would be so sweet. Not entirely taking control from the player but having them stagger around a bit.

Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot, before Activision ruined them.

Rayman, when and if Origins ever comes out.
I completely agree with that statement about Spyro. I would love a proper Megaman Legends 3.

I'm afraid I whip this dead horse a little too much (I think I'm at about a 1:1 ratio with Yahtzee and Silent Hill 2), but my favorite game of all time is the oft maligned and misunderstood Chrono Cross. Given a graphical overhaul (only for the characters though, the hand drawn scenery was gorgeous), and maaaybe voiceovers (nearly every character in the game had a distinct accent), I think it'd fit in well.

It probably wouldn't sell well over here (way too colorful and blood-free for today's average gamer), but it would do a killing in Japan.

Edit: On second thought, I wouldn't resurrect a specific game, but I'd like to see forgotten gameplay elements make a comeback. I grew up loving turn based RPGs, but there are almost none being made today. Come on writers!! Work out a good story, dream up some believable characters and give me a good 'ol Final Fantasy 7-9 kind of experience again!
You sir, have won the historical rpg award.Try Dragon Quest. It is as unoriginal and cheesy as they get,but it is still turn based.
OP:I would bring back twisted metal, but that being done.
