Kingdom Hearts 2 anyone? Fantastical game right there.
I lost my old copy of Halo 2. Then I bought a new one. Then they turned the online off. Such a good freakin game...
If we're throwing remakes into the equation. Pokemon, you has me guilty. I bought Blue. My original GameBoy (the 9 ton one that leaked radiation) and Blue were stolen. I bought a SECOND copy. Then the Yellow enchanced release, with a limited edition GameBoy color came out on the week of my birthday. Skip ahead, and after renting Gold and Silver for awhile (2000's Blockbuster. get at me brah) I bought Gold. Then got Silver as a gift. Then got Silver AGAIN as another gift. Then got the Crystal enchanced version. Then I bought Sapphire. Then FireRed, which was a remake of the original. Then LeafGreen, which is the same. Then Emerald Version, the enhanced of Ruby and Sapphire. Then Diamond, then HeartGold - a remake of Gold Version.
Jeeze. Pokemon, you really know how to push your product.
I own a PC and Xbox version of Borderlands, L4D, L4D2, and Fallout New Vegas. I owned a Sega, but never owned the Sonic games (BlockBuster, 1990's. Get at me). I did get a PC port when I was in, like, the 6th grade, with all the sonic games. Which I decided to then buy on the Xbox. And I have a few on the PC under different names as well. Same with Sonic Adventures DX. My GameCube came with a Zelda collection, and I have a copy of the original Zelda for the GBA. Oh, and the GBA. Final Fantasy re-releases? Plus ones on the iPod touch?
And that sums it up. I rented a lot of games in my days. But I have a nack for buying multiple copies of the same game for different devices. Impulse buying FTW. Usually, if I buy a game multiple times, they are re-released versions with enhanced gameplay (see Pokemon), or theres a large gap in between purchases. Or if Steam has a sale. Its nice to have a copy of good games on a console (which I prefer for playing games on), and a copy for my PC, which I can pack up and take with me a lot easier (like my Laptop. Or Desktop, since I don't have to go through the pain of tearing apart my mancave just to free the xbox and its components.)
You get the point.
