I was raised by a lesbian couple, so don't get confused over the fact that I never mention a father and refer to two mothers. My mums are actually big gamers, especially Chelly (My biological mother) who got me into most of the games I'm into now. She really likes shooters and strategy games, she got me into Doom and Command & Conquer, and one of the first games I ever got as a present was the first Red Alert, and it was equally a present for her as it was for me. She likes old school games too, Mario 3 is her favourite game and we played it a lot too. My other mother Meranda was into RPGs and got me into Fallout. She tried to get me into Final Fantasy, but I could never get into it. She didn't like shooters but she liked strategy games, and when StarCraft came out the 3 of us would all play. We also all loved Worms, even if ti was turn based and not RTS like most strategy games we would play. Her all time favourite game is Diablo II, and it was yet another RPG she convinced me to like, and we'd often quest together. They also like Silent Hill since they like horror movies, especially psychological horror movies, although they didn't get me into Silent Hill, it was I who got them into it.
I liked having parents that loved games and I got a lot of my taste in gaming from them. Even though I'm married and out of the house, we still love playing games together and I think it helps keep my relationship with them strong. The four of us (I'm including my wife) have been playing a lot of Borderlands and Worms lately, and we still hold StarCraft and C&C tourneys.
