I envy this. I can't find a girl gamer I am attracted to.
Give it time, as more and more social barriers are broken down the number of girls will rise. Also, say what you want about it, the wii is a great way to introduce someone to gaming so perhaps kinetic and move will results in a similar increase.

(sorry if this sounds patronising)
Forget patronizing, I like the idea that when I am about 50 years old, I can get a girl half my age to play video games with. Hopefully, by that time, there will be a viagra for keeping my energy level and interest in video games up.
50? Although I have no idea how old you are I don't think you'll have to wait that long. My experience in relationships isn't extensive and I've found a few women who like video games, manga, warhammer 40k and the like. Just keep talking to women and eventually you'll find one.
Forget it. It was a joke. Yes, I am pretty old. 37, to be exact.
Oh sorry. Humour once again drained entirely by the medium of text on the internet.

No, that would require a significant other. Know where I can find one?
Well there are girls on The Escapist, that doesn't mean this is a dating site though and you shouldn't really be sending naughty messages to them.

I know that guy flew off the handle on the first page, and everyone's like "what the fuck, bro?", but I completely empathize with him right now. Seeing a thread full of people who happily game with, and likely sex, their significant others on a regular basis fills me with a powerful urge to carpet bomb an orphanage.

On a semi-related note, some dude wearing skinny jeans was complaining about something or other at work yesterday, and all I could think was "Fuck you. Some of us have the exact same problems plus we can't fit into those fucking jeans, so go fuck yourself." It's been a good week.

Don't have one at the moment. When I do I won't mind if they're not into gaming but considering I plan to make a career out of them I generally expect them to accept gaming. God knows that if she doesn't like games when we meet I'll try to reverse that though. We all started somewhere.

First sign of the apocalypse... maybe?

OT: Personally, all my friends are gamers, and none of them are female. So I wouldn't be able to get a gaming partner unless I made some serious, sexual orientation changing decisions.

I recall when I bought an Xbox 360 (about a year after they launched) My fiancé couldn't believe that I'd waste that much money when I already had an Xbox/PS2 /sigh

So needless to say, shes not at all a gamer. I've tried to get her to play, but aside from the occasional game of Dr. Mario shes not at all interested in gaming. She would much rather read a novel while I game.

I play co-op games with my girlfriend all the time. Games we have played include:
Kane and Lynch
Gears of War
Call of Duty
RE5
Army of Two

Not all of them great... some even horrible, but we played them cause they were two player. The things I learned, pace yourself. We can only play together for an hour or so before we're arguing over the dumbest shit.

For example:
Me: "WHY'D YOU LET HIM KILL YOU?! YOU'RE USELESS!"
Her: "MAYBE IF YOU WEREN'T STANDING RIGHT BEHIND ME I COULDA RAN AWAY!"
Me: "RUNNING IS FOR COWARDS!"

And so on... and so on.

Oh, interesting subject. Well, me and my boyfriend have played several games over the years. For now we spend some quality time in EVE online- at first i wasn't very attracted to the game, but i got really hooked on it, and we both love it. But we played WoW, diablo 2, some warcraft 3 modes, Unreal Tournament 2004, Heroes III, Worms and i can't really remember all of them. These are the ones that we played the most and enjoyed the most. Thing is, we love games in general, so it was only natural we would play video games together as well. So it's all fun and games ^_^

Oh, and i wish good luck to all the gamers so that they can find a bf/gf that will accept and even share their gaming habits :D.

For the significant other side of the argument I'll get back to you when I have a boyfriend.

For co-op in general, this might sound a little embarassing but my father's always been my co-op partner in crime. If it's built around co-op and has a storied campaign then chances are we've probably played it (unless it's gotten terrible reviews), sometimes we end up playing through whole single-player games via the "A die each" method.

It's never brought up between me and my girl. She did say at one point that she liked games other than Halo, though we've never spoken about it since. I mentioned Assassin's Creed in her earshot and gave me and my mate a funny look. 0.o
So we just don't talk about it and find other things to do instead.

Some of us are social isolates, for whom gaming used to be a safe haven hobby to hide from all the people who made us feel endlessly inferior. Most of us who gamed were ostracized people who didn't fit in with the jocks, preppies, stoners or anyone else who had "friends".

So you can see why some of us are a little uneasy about socially competent people flocking to our hobby.
I was commiserating.

The really depressing part is that a girl who games is basically +2-3 leagues. Seeing as I'm already down around the 2-3 range, netting a gamer would have me dating a 0 or a 1. That's bridge troll territory.

I'm just kidding sorta.

My girlfriend loves the Assassin's Creed series, though we usually don't play together, cause whenever I try to play she distracts me and takes the controller.

man i agree, my gf and me now usually play some old rts games like age of empires 2
problem is she never really got into gaming as a whole, so it's usually me who tells her 'hey, lets go play this game', kinda gives me the feeling she plays it for me, instead of for the sake of playing it, but ah well, we have fun, thats waht its all about anyway.
