Gaming Dreams

I had a dream.

In this dream, Portal 2 was a dark, dark game. Not in content, but in color scheme. And in this dark, dark game, the worst of the dream was revealed.

JarJar Binks was a playable character.

Worse: I was playing as JarJar.


I really wish I could be making this up, but no. This really happened. I woke up confused, but yeah.

Anyways, I was wondering: How many of you have had gaming dreams? Share 'em! Anyone have anything more shameful than JarJar in Portal?

I have had dreams about Nazi Zombies after all nighters of W@W.

One consisted of me in a trench with a few other soldiers, I was armed with an M1 Garand, and I was sprinting forward while things exploded around me. I then pulled out some basketballs and began throwing them at zombies. Then I woke up. Sleep deprivation does strange things to your minds, kids.

It's happened to me that after playing a game for the first time I become delerious with tactics and gameplay for much of the night instead of sleeping, although it doesn't happen to me so much anymore. It happened with Team Fortress 2, Star Wars Battlefront, Red Alert 2, Ace Combat Zero and Blazing Angels 2.

Not me, but one of my old house mates. He was playing A LOT of Tomb Raider when it came out. He got stuck one night and went to bed.

While he slept he had a dream... He dreamed the solution to his problem, and it worked. Seriously, that guy ought to be a beta tester.

I used to play WoW and would fall asleep mid-game this made me dream I was still playing it....anyone want to guess why I quit?

I had a dream a few nights ago that I was at a Lady Gaga show in the Left 4 Dead world. Halfway through the concert (which was attended by myself, a group of children, and like 5 other adults) a witch showed up. Gaga just casually picked up a Hunting Rifle, killed the witch with a single shot to the head (so I guess my dream was on easy mode) and continued singing.

so i lost my ratchet and clank 1 for a while.

i dreamed that i found the game in this specific spot.

the next morning i went to the hiding spot and it was not there.

but then for some reson i felt motivated to look for it.

I looked in the second mose obvious place and BAM i found it

A few years ago I had a dream where I was in Runescape. Even worse, I was talking while I was dreaming, so my brother still makes fun of me about it to this day.

Fell asleep listening to music from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, and had really weird dreams about just beating the tar out of everyone I've ever met. It was oddly satisfying.

Dreamt that I was in Fallout 3. Got in a sword fight with a Deathclaw. It was epic. I won. Then got killed in Megaton. Some douche (I think it was my friend). Then I woke up.

Minecraft can give me some REALLY wierd dreams.

I'm there, making endless tunnels. The world outside seems familiar, but it looks wrong somehow. Things in the dark chase me and stand at my doors, waiting. I'm always looking for something, but I look at the world stretching out into infinity, I remember I am alone under this sky, and I feel a crushing sense of hopelessness.

Perhaps I'm looking for the meaning of life (or Minecraft in general)?! Who knows, all I do know is that it screws with my head...

But hell I love this game

For the two-three nights that it took me to complete Gears of War, and then the same amount of time for Gears of War 2, every night I had a dream that I was playing the game, but from a perspective as if I was actually in it, and not in front of the TV screen. I can't really remember exactly what happened, I just know that nothing significant occurred; just typical firefights.
That's the first time I've ever had a gaming dream, let alone one that was consistant over a few nights. Kinda freaked me out to be honest, hahah.

I'm having dreams about things I want to add to my Minecraft house. I think I used about the entire Amazon rainforest worth of wood for it already...I'll need some more...

I remember being DukeNukem in the 3d version and....no thank you i'll just play the game. xD

then i remember facing off with covenent snipers in halo 3 on legendary mode in an overly sized room....fuuuUUUUuuuhhh...

another was as old snake...i was trying to throw grenades to be hindered by the shitty control mechanics, not only that 5 billion enemys were swarming down the ridge i was aiming at.

then one day i woke up and everything was eerily quiet, and bright glowy...then i walked outside to find space invaders...

I have gaming related dreams from time to time. There is an frustrating common theme in all my dreams with guns, though. In almost every dream where I have/get a gun - I either physically cannot pull the trigger no matter how hard I try, or it's very hard.

And years back after playing Aliens, I had a drean where I was a marine going up a HUGE square shaped column of stairs in a massive dark open room. There were a few others with me and we were all basically out of ammo - one of the few dreams I could shoot freely - and when we were about to the top I remember one of the aliens burst through the grating under my feet and grabbing my legs. I popped my last few rounds into it's face, causing a splash of acid all over me. For an instant I felt a very real sensation of scalding hot water being splashed on me then I woke up startled.

Most of my dreams are very realistic when it comes to sensations. However they have a way of shifting scenes and locations, and even people quickly though I rarely seem to be aware that they are.

More than one time I've dreamed that I played an awesome game, that was just really fun and woke up thinking man I want to go play that game some more, only to realize it was just a dream.

I once had a Star Wars-ish dream after playing Jedi Academy 2, where, for some reason, it was my job to melt ice blocks with a tiny lightsaber. I have no idea what the hell was up with that.

I could go on forever about dreams but there ya go.

I've dreamed I'm playing Pokemon Ruby, complete with fictional pkmn my mind made up, and I've dreamed that I was playing Fallout 3 where I ended up going a number of years into the game's future for some reason. Other than that, not much.

That's... Almost as disturbing as JarJar in Portal! lol

That sounds enormously frustrating. I've had those realistic sensation dreams before as well... Part of the reason no one will come into my room unannounced. There's been a few times I've woken up from a dream like that with a knife in hand.

Been playing quite a bit of Smackdown vs Raw recently. A couple of nights ago I dreamt I was at Wrestlemania. Needless to say, it was awesome.


Generally if I play a game a lot in a short space of time, it enters my brain waves. I've used VATS before in a dream - that's fun.
