If it's popular i don't tend to give a shit about it.
But alot of the children (yes,my age of 17,but i still qualify them as children) in my year have never touched the main story in Call Of Duty 4 or World At War.
And WoW sucked.

But you shouldn't really be even thinking about what the douche thinks.
He's obviously a fanboy,and a COD-head.
A lethal combination.

Well, the other day my friend let me borrow inFamous and I played it most of the night, had a fair bit of fun. The next day I rented Prototype and had an absolute blast with it and I think it's better than inFamous in my opinion.

So today at school I was telling my friend about how I enjoyed Prototype more, then he starts saying how Prototype must be worse than inFamous because Prototype has bad graphics and animations and such, and ignores me whenever I say that I had more fun with Prototype. Oh he hasn't played Prototype yet either, which made me laugh.

I think I got a bit off-topic here, I'm not sure, I just joined earlier.
Oh, I know what that's like. I'll detail it further down, after this: Welcome to the Escapist!

Anyway, I have two annoying friends like this, although one is completely hated and the other is just seen as kind of "meh" by everyone, so no ostracization for not agreeing. Anyway, the first one once told me "games aren't for having fun" and criticized me for playing the Orange Box and Mass Effect a year after they came out because "they're old!" The other is convinced that FEAR is ripping of Doom 3 and any game in which your character runs fast is ripping off Sonic. Yeah...no.

The way I see it there are two kinds of people like this: The one's who are uber gamers and look down on whatever you play, and the people who know very little about gaming and just blindly dismiss whatever you like.

Err, no...nothing like that happens in my college.

My mate convinced me to buy Team Fortress 2 but I was thinking about getting it anyway.

Yeah, I've seen this kind of schoolyard crap. I try to ignore it.

Thanks for the Welcome. I've been thinking of joining for a while but couldn't find a decent name. Would of been funny as to hear your friend when he said that games aren't for having fun. What do you say back to them?

With me, all my friends know that I'm pretty into gaming, even if they're not, so it's cool.

But then there is a friend that goes to a different school who called pretty much all of my 360 games crap (Fable 2, Fallout 3, Prince of Persia, Far cry 2 although we both agreed on that one, there's more but I can't think of them now). Oh I forgot to mention that he thought that Quantum of Solace was one of the best shooters out there

He's really ignorant to videogames if he claims Call of Duty 4/WaW are the greatest games known to mankind. I'd like to introduce him to 3 games that surpass COD 4, right off the top of my head:
Chrono Trigger
Mother 3
and Secret of Mana.

You're welcome. And my response was something to the effect of "Are you fucking retarded?" To put that in perspective, I hate the word "retarded", but I was just so taken aback.
