Gaming idiocy?

Lets see, first thread! Kind of a pity that the first thing I think of to make a thread of ended up being a rant. =(

While I mainly play MMOs, I assume that this problem is prevalent in other formats as well?
Who here has played with people who are just plain terrible at a game? I mean terrible with no interest of learning or improving or even listening to others. There are far too many cases that I have seen in where 1 or 2 people hold a larger group back because they are unwilling to listen.

What about everyone else?

Modern Warfare 2 Xbox360/PC has alot of gamerage.

And suprisingly WoW has alot if you get into a ventrilo raid chat.

Yeah. See people like that very often. They're like the kids who like to sit down limp on the floor pouting, in the middle of all the toys - because it forces the other kids to take account of them.

Specially when they are just about mandated to be nice to each other by the adult in charge, that's when these kids turn up. Because they know they can blackmail others into giving them their full attention.

You see them on the forums very often as well. In my opinion, they should all be shot with tranquillizers, and left somewhere in the forest.

Maybe those 2 people are new to the game? God knows i used to be shitty at WoW and halo 3 but now i kick ass. You were also new to the game as well and i bet you sucked .

But on the other hand .. there are people who dont give a fuck that will purposly fuck your game up for shits n giggles .. in that case ban/ignore them and move on.

Well, seeing as my MMO of choice is actually WoW =3
I don't generally mind newbies, as most are quite eager to learn and better themselves and I tend to give said people advice and tips when applicable.

Its the people who suck and don't care who they piss of while sucking that annoy me the most.

COD 4. I spent too much time on the game, but so did the rest of the world. The difference between me and 98% of the players is seemingly that I got really good at it and nobody else seemed to even try to get better. I would constantly see people at 10th prestige that were simply average or just bad. It was so irritating to lose games when I went 30-3 or whatever.

change Bad company to Modern Warfare and its pretty much this.

Though I have noticed I always end up with teammates that will stand in front of me(so I cant shoot the guy with the RPG) or just run right into machinegun fire

There's a word for people like that - Noobs. And they are the primary reason why i hate MMOs. Unless you know the people you're playing with from earlier, chances are you're going to be teamed up with them and carry them on your shoulders the whole way, while their main function is bitching about everybody else not doing their job.

A lot of the Fighting Games i play have many people like that.

They learn how to do one thing...and that's it.

the same Attack over and over and over.
They don't even try to preform combos and when i switch tactics they still preform the same attacks.

Well, from what I have seen, there are some that make even the average player look pro.
As long as people make the effort to get better, you have the right to criticize the idiots that don't all day. =3

I kind of feel like this sort of issue is prevalent everywhere you have a multiplayer option. Its not just MMOs, is not just FPSs, its the fact that there is always a good section of a game's demographic that just refuse to play better. I have a friend with whom I played split screen COD:MW2 with who had more raw talent than me and was playing with us 90%+ of the time. But he didn't care about getting better. He still stands still as he's getting shot and we've started using care packages like traps since he runs at them like a homeless man at a box of pizza.

I don't think less of the players usually, since they are still just trying to have fun, but it drags game play down big time. It also make it horribly embarrassing that one in a hundred games where the random number generator loves him and he does better than you for no reason other than shear luck.

In Modern Warfare 2 I desperately got a 6 kill streak(horrible in comparison to others) to help my team a bit on Afghan right before we were going to lose. I couldn't do it, and my team ended up losing.

Apologies to anyone who played Counter-Strike Source lately, I love but totally suck at it.

On TF2, some engies are total noobs on 2fort and can't even protect the intel(How hard can it be?).
