Asus makes an Awesome motherboard, I haven't heard anything bad about their laptopes yet either. I'm going to look it up - Awesome brother you are, buying him a laptop! That's really nice!

I've got a nice T5600 on mine, but built-in graphic card and 512 RAM is... weak. I can't run anything better than Guild Wars.

But Neverwinter Nights and everything pre-DirectX 9.0 works perfectly.

Toshiba Satellite. I only imagine they could run it even BETTER now. Of course, a few years ago it was pretty much the best lappy publically available BY Toshiba.

Yeah my old A50 is still bumbling along nicely. Never had issues with it. And i had a look at their new shiny ones at work. they look pretty good and all.

Toshiba Satellite. I only imagine they could run it even BETTER now. Of course, a few years ago it was pretty much the best lappy publically available BY Toshiba.

Looking for a gaming laptop myself recently, I've spent hours reading the notebookreview site, so I would highly recommend it.
You should give us a general price range so that we know what you're looking for also.

Now that I've said that, DO NOT buy Alienware. They are a boutique brand that sells overpriced laptops where you are essentially paying for looks and brand-recognition.

Also, falcon northwest laptops will cost you upwards of $4000 dollars for their basic models.

If you're looking for a high quality laptop I would recommend getting a Sager, www.sagernotebook.com ,

For desktop replacements there are two models that are well worth the price. (These are basic configurations)

I appreciate your helping me too, I thought just getting the PC with the biggest Ram/Hard drive and popping a good graphics card and cooling fan on would do the trick, but it really doesn't. I have found out that you can't take a sow's ear (Hewlett Packard) and make a silk purse out of it (Alienware), lol.

That's what I've got. And for the price, it's pretty damn good I'd say. It'd probably get you what you need, but there's better ones you can get for the same price now.

Chances are, in less you plan on giving blood, you?re not going to be able to afford a powerful laptop (in less you crap diamonds, and urinate... something else valuable). Mine is a Toshiba, 599.99 retail, i got it on sale a few days after Christmas for 499.99. Now i prefer PC gaming, because most of the time it's cheaper. Now me being a wifi thief I can't really play any mmo's or other multiplayer games reliably, thus leaving me mostly with single player games. Now I was delightedly surprised that I could run Company of Hero's, around 30-40 FPS, on low, but still able to play it. The thing with most affordable laptops is that even if its processor is good, ram, and etc, the main drawback is always the Video card. I am equipped with a disappointing Radeon X1200 Series, 128Ram, (3D acceleration, Transform/lighting 2.0 Vertex Shader 2.0 and Pixel Shader 2.0) that?s why I was so surprised to learn Company of Hero?s runs great. So basically, in less you have a lot of money, and want to run something like COD4 on high, or that processer rapist Crysis, then you should probably stick with PC gaming.

My laptop has a really low graphics card, like an NVidia 6 series or something equally low.

I can't go much higher than 1,500. These both sound great, someone else posted about Sagar as well, I am going to put the Sager NP5797 on my list I have been making from these posts and check it out, it sounds Awesome!

All except the 5400 speed hard drive on that one. I noticed the complaint on the side as well; which was a bit scary.
