This is what I have as well, and I love it. Its not really a matter of it being a "gaming" mouse that makes me like it so much though. Its just really high quality. The best feature it has for gaming imo is being able to switch between smooth and click-by-click mouse wheel.Nimbus said:I use an MX Revelution. I can honestly say, that I could not live without it. If it broke, I would hae to get a new one. It is that good.
I can confirm that this mouse is great. If you can find it, though, I really prefer the MX700, it the same thing, just wireless. I can't tell the difference between using the 700 or 518 in terms of responsiveness, and I just like the extra weight of the batteries.[Gavo said:]I have my favorite mouse I've ever owned right now it a Logitech MX518, 1800 DPI. Most comfortable mouse ever. And only $35!
I think of a gaming mouse as something above 1000 DPI, and has some sort of customization beyond what the OS will give you regularly (through hardware or software) And has more than the standard number of buttons. They would be designed for extensive/intensive use.Spacelord said:What're the benefits of a 'gaming mouse' compared to... say, a regular logitech optical mouse?
That's the exact mouse I have. Absolutely love it; fits my hand perfectlyTMAN10112 said:![]()
It's a Logitech MX518. It fits my hand comfortably, is extremely precise, has two extra programable buttons by my thumb, and another two for instant switching between high & low sensitivity (even in-game). I would highly reccomend it if you want to get a better edge while gaming (also works nice for anything else).
I can give you a 100% guarantee that I was better at FPS games after I got my 'gaming' mouse. Also, I wouldn't trust anything said 'reps' say, seeing as they're just there for marketing purposes.LivingInStereo said:I can give you my 100% guarantee that a gaming mouse is not worth it, especially if you are buying for extra buttons, none of which you will use. My teacher told me he talked to a Logitech rep. once who told him the gaming mouses are pretty much just cool to look at, but otherwise no better than a regular mouse.
I can't tell , are you kidding?Yorgmiester said:My mouse is an icy white, dual button, laser guided Microsoft mouse with red lighting accents and a fully rotational scrolly thing with specially designed finger grip manufactured for optimal performance.
In other words, this.

Yea, check out that bad boy![]()
The G5 is a very classy mouse. I like it very much for non-gaming, too: it is shaped well for an easy grip, has a good texture, you can add weight to stabilize it, it has what I consider the right amount of extra buttons (two on the thumb -- great for web-browsing), and the dpi switcher is occasionally useful (more so for art than for games).SuperFriendBFG said:I personally use a 2nd Generation G5. It's a solid mouse. I used to have a 1st Generation G5 but the wire pooped out on me.
