always makes me chuckle at the least.

One thing i don't like about the escapist is the ever vigilant "double posting police". it doesn't really matter if someone double posts about something off topic, it's only a problem on FAQ websites. If a topic is good, it will continously crop up in the future, in the end it just helps people start a good online conversation.

Agreed, I've always found that annoying too. There's really no problem with starting the same thread over, especially if that last one was over a few pages long. It encourages people to get into a new conversation instead of feeling intimidated by one that's already really long. The only time it's an issue is if you create a thread of the same topic as an active thread that people are posting in. Otherwise the boards would consist on the same handful of threads each 100's of pages long. There's no use in bringing back a dead thread, it makes more sense to start a new one.
