Well, that's... umm... interesting to say the least. Can't say I'm surprised by the Australian gov as they censor everything but meh.

You assholes!!! It has Zombies in it!! I don't give two rat's asses if it's a gay zombie film, It's still FREAKING ZOMBIES!!!...

However Im ok with Sexuality and acts in a movie, but um....Necrophilia!?

Yeeeeeeah Imma draw the line there. Gay protagonist, Sure I'm cool with it. Zombies, Definitely. Having sex with the dead bodies....Ya crossed the line goddamnit...Now I don't want to eat.

This... yes, this definitely sets the bar for weirdest news article of the week - and it's only Monday. I eagerly await the sheer unbridled lunacy that will depose this story from its throne over the next 6 days, ha ha!

Okay, while I somewhat agree with the film not being shown, they went a little far. No-one tried to destory 'A Serbain Film' and that was some seriously screwed up crap there.

Is Australia trying to look America look better by comparison? Like, seriously, it's as if they're making a concerted effort to allow the Americans to go "Well, we may have elected people like Rand Paul and Michelle Bachmann to public office, but at least our government isn't tyrannical and fewer of our animals are trying to have us for lunch!"
Also: Am I the only one here that WANTS to see that movie??

Maybe as an artist I'm sick of the term "artistic merit" being used on stuff that is just there to shock people or be way different. Or on the other hand "things of artistic merit" not being held in the same regards as other things. Take the movie shortbus for example, it is on netflix, and for whatever reason is allowed to do things that other films that get put on these kinds of services typically don't Namely graphic sexual acts.

Did he really destroy it, or did the police just turn up and say "We're here to burn your film", and he he said "oh yeah, I already destroyed it".
That's what I would have done. I meah, what are they going to do? Trash the house and look for it anyway? Expect him to show the remains just to be sure? Silly policemen.

I want to know how far up this goes. The article only says "the Australian police". But they would have had to get a warrant to search his place, first of all. And I'm sure that any ol' judge can't give orders to destroy artistic property. Somebody in power has quite the stick up their ass, it seems.

I can't believe that the porn actor was the best person for the part, none of them can act

Disclaimer: I have not watched enough gay porn for this to be fact but assume if they are anything like straight porn actors

Am I really the only one so far who finds the name "Bruce LaBruce" hilarious?

As I read the title, I thought we were talking about the Resident Evil films.
Are you implying Resident Evil is gay? You blasphemer.

That is the funniest thing I`ve heard all day. Not only does my country make a film that just sounds ridiculous, but it`s apparently so offense they want to destroy it halfway around the world! Shame on the Australian government (duh). I can see this becoming an underground cult hit based on this alone, regardless of the films quality. Oh Canada!

Lovely. Now the short-sighted types who say "Who cares if we have the government pass laws curtailing access to commercial products that they personally decide we shouldn't see? Australia does just fine!" can officially suckle something of mine that I will go into more detail on at a later date. Welcome to the new book-burning.
