Can someone explain to me what a geek "looks like"? I was under the impression that your hobbies/interests define whether you are one, not your appearance.
I have several friends who could be considered geeks. Maybe only one of them looks a bit geeky/nerdy.

Geeky girls can be hot, but I wouldn't go so far as to generalize and claim that they all are. I'd probably agree that I am more attracted to them in that we are more likely to have common interests, but usually that isn't found out until afterwould anyway, so it isn't really an attraction based on looks.

I'm accustomed to seeing exactly the opposite distinction being made. Wikipedia mostly agrees with me. Geeks need not be socially inept, but nerds do. I'm a martial arts geek more than a gamer geek to tell the truth, but in character and appearance most nerds would dismiss me as a jock.Everblack said:

Well look at my tafe there's this girl... for privacy sake let's call her 'NW'. She is an english girl who moved here to Australia, got the accent and everything. She is very pretty, thin, tall, long hair, pleasant face. She doesn't dress like the other girls she kinda dresses her own way and she also is much easier to talk to than most girls because she talks about things like the Xbox 360 and her favourite games and her love for violent action movies and horror movies. She cracks clever jokes and is actually a fan of some of the more extreme violent games.
I have another female friend at Tafe who is also a geek, let's call her Katie as that's her name. Anyway Katie is also a geek but a geek into very specific types of things. She loves the beatles and she plays really wierd and wacky video games. It feels strange talking to her about violent movies and stuff because usually you can't say that when ladies are present but she is unfazed. She too is easy on the eyes.
The thing is I agree that geeky girls are actually very attractive especially going by recent years because movies like Juno stand as an example that being geeky can be 'cool' because it's the geeky ones who have real personality and for a geeky girl with a great personality living amongst other geeks it makes her cool. I think in general 'geek' now translates to 'cool' and so with the flush of geeky girls proving to actually be petty hot (especially in Perth where the nerdy girls are positivley radiant with beauty) then yes I think it's official.
The 'cool popular people' no longer have the monopoly on beautiful people with great personalities. It's true, geeky girls these days are sexy girls and this is partly in thanks to thier great personalities that make them more fun to talk to.
Same can be said for geek men.
