Its the whole "Air of Intelligence" thing. Some people are attracted by looks and muscles, others by personality and brainpower. It also may be the glasses. I myself find the smart girls more attractive than the "beautiful" girls.

Give me an average looking smart girl with glasses instead of luscious boobalicious blond!
This I can 100 % agree with.

Everybody:

No, you don't.

You find physically attractive people attractive. You find clear skin of whatever color you prefer attractive. You find symmetry attractive. Whether you like DDs or AAs they have to be the same size. Yes, they do. You find a certain body type most attractive, and other body types less attractive. I have yet to find a work of fiction depicting a "sexy geek" that doesn't depict a sexy person independent of geek status.

Look at the girl somebody posted on page 1: She's stunning. What's her profession? Model. Is she smart? Do you know whether she is or not because she's wearing glasses in that picture? Of course not. But you do know whether or not you find her attractive. See what I mean?

Hollywood has decided that it can put a stunning young woman who is a 9 or 10 in unflattering clothing, glasses, and a messy up-do, and give her geek appeal, but they always give her a makeover by the end of the second act.

Your real "geek" stereotypical gamer girl or guy who stays up all night gaming and eating crap food, never gets out in the sun or to the gym, speaks in weird jargon particular to her gaming/anime/academic obsession doesn't have any plans on Saturday night except ones pertaining to said obsession, I guarantee.

I find it attractive when a woman has obviously already won the genetic lottery and topped it off with a robust interest in her own body and society. I have my doubts about people who claim otherwise.
Yeah, but no. You're wrong. Physical looks are certainly very important, as are smells and sounds. It's all genetics. But there's also an entire social role, that can be even more important. For instance, women usually have crushes on strong physiques, but settle with strong minds. Why? Because in a social arena, the strong mind is the Alpha Male. Women choose partners based on social reasons, not physical appearance. Not to say that physique is not very important. But social role comes first.

Add to that then, that we all have our kinks and preferences. I am much more endeared and turned on by "averag" lookin women, than I am by super models. Don't tell me I'm wrong. I just so happens to know what images and ideals I erect react to.

I consider myself a geek, and while low self esteem restricts my gloating, the few people I have slept with actively promote how sexy I am. I guess it takes all sorts, I'm quite curvy, but smart. Smart is what counts in bed ^_^
I do know a very sexy looking geek goddess, who it totally into RPing and Computer games, she's taken at the moment though, sorry guys. She considers herself a chubby chaser, which might be a sub genre title for geek seekers, (which is a phrase I just coined) I'm definitely a geek seeker :D

I think geeks are incredibly attracting. I usually catch myself gawking away at them in grocery stores or food joints. Why?! What mechanisim do they use to make the knees so weak??

Do otakus count as geeks or are we a seperate category?
You're not an otaku, unless you're willing to go to those disturbing extremes.
If this doesn't make me an otaku, then please tell what would.
*reads brief list*

* You never leave the house, except on extreme occasions to buy foodstuffs.
* You lack good hygene.
* You believe an anime character is your waifu.
* You have a human-sized pillow of said character displayed provocatively.
* In association with the two above, you have an unhealthy obsession with anime series purely produced to milk you for all you're worth. (see Haruhi, Lucky Star and K-ON!)
* You like lolicon.
* You prefer fictional characters of your preferred sex over real ones, henceforth making you a virgin.
* You go ballistic and boycott a perfectly good series because your expectations of a character in the show have changed.
* You're familiar with the majority of the touhou girls despite never playing one of the games.

The list goes on, but I think this will suffice.

You got me with Haruhi and Lucky Star. Although I wouldn't consider it unhealthy.

You should really add K-ON to your list. It comes with Amnestic's Anime Attestation of Approval.
