I think being really ott when talking about games is the worst thing, things like "OMG! Last night it was so awesome when I was playing an fps last night and I BLEW THIS HUGE FRIGGIN' TANK UP!", my friend said this to me before and we were on a bus, people must have thought we were crazy since he was talking really loudly about blowing stuff up.

I hate world of warcraft. Its so boring and i hate the people who are ALWAYS on it and never ever leave the world of gaming. But other things like just general gaming are fun so why are people who like that negatively stereotyped? I know quite a few people who are on the football team and stuff (british football) and they would be seen as cool or whatever by a lot of people but theyre on COD4 every night, it just doesnt make sense.
I don't deny I'm a geek, but I don't fit the stereotype. I see no need to embrace the image of the bespectacled perma-virgin when I used to play varsity football (American). I don't want to embrace the stereotype that I have no interests beyond the geeky when I also have a keen interest in boxing. Kidding aside, I don't really look at people as "Geeks" or "Not a geek". At the restaurant that I work at there's all kinds of people I would certainly not consider a geek, yet they play D&D or WoW, or some other such thing. They can also cook up a mean Sea Bass.
