When I said Nintendo has skeletons in your closet I was referring to all divisions.

Sony is getting in on putting ads in their games too. Microsoft aren't the only ones anymore. And with with that, AAA exclusives are now dead to me on Sony. God of War 5 & Spider-Man 2 will be my last one, thank you, and fuck off! Cuz that's the path you are heading, I don't want any part of it. PS5 will be nothing more than a means to an end.

I don't mean to imply they don't, but this being reported in the American side doesn't necessarily translate to changes at the headquarters in Japan.

Didn't they say that would only be on Free to Play games? I thought it was only F2P. God I better not see Kratos shilling Mountain Dew.
I still would not exactly trust them. All it takes is a little push. It would be the F2Ps today, then the single player games tomorrow. I highly doubt it will be in Ragnarok, but I can't speak for Spider-Man 2. Besides, this is the first time Sony or any other console maker has gone back on their word. Remember when they said they wouldn't make any additional prices to PS Plus. It was supposed to say at $50. Then 6 to 8 months later, a 1-year subscription went to $60 instead of 50. Remember when PSN was actually free? They only started charging, because Microsoft is doing the same for Xbox live. So they can both suck it. Nintendo can suck it for charging for their crappy online as well. You don't have to pay as much, but it's not worthy and spending the $30 on.

I’m torn since I still have a couple years of PS+ to use. Defined won’t be supporting any games that have ads, but I’ll still download whatever’s offered on + that I had planned to check out already. Hopefully enough community bitching will squash this idea like NFT bs.

*edit* it looks like only F2P games for now, which I honestly never had any interest in anyways. I’m surprised that garbage didn’t already have ads.

Edit: Replaced because that was supposed to go in the joke thread

Anyway, Splatoon 3 come out on 9/9, which makes Xenoblade 3 coming out early make sense

Capcom put ads in Street Fighter V for a little while, but people rejected the shit out of it and they took them out. So maybe this will happen again.

Also in fairness to ads in games, I would be fine with ads in games that make sense. For example ad banners on the walls of a race track in a racing game, or in the stadium of a sporting game, because that would logically make sense in my head and not seem jarring.

Yup those make sense. Something that wouldn’t make sense is say, instead of meeting a boss when you cross a fog gate in Dark Souls, you see an ad for toilet paper.

After shitting yourself at the sight of this ugly bastard, be sure to buy Charmins, the brand trusted most by chosen undead!

Great! Getting the PS4 version would be the most appropriate.

I must say, it's still much better than those other "special editions" that consists of early-access to beta, xp boosts, shitty skins, and digital artworks. Stuff like this is what I would call special edition

A good deal and all, but it's still way too fucking high. If the special edition was half that price, I would consider it fair and would pick up a copy myself. The only reason it is that high, is because they know the hardcore and nostalgic fans would pay any price for all that. They would pay if it was $250-300. I like physical and bonus materials, but within reason.
