This piece of news happened a month ago, and I did not pay attention to it, but it made me go "What really?" now that I saw it, so I am posting it here to see if this really is something to raise your eyebrows at:
Paradox Interactive and Ubisoft announces a joint bundle of Victoria 3 and Anno 1800
In my mind bundles are usually connected via coming from the same publisher, or being from the same series in instances when a series has different publishers for different entries; here is a bundle that come from two major publishers whose connection is that they cover the same era. Is that something that really happens? I would think that the publishers are competitors and not wanting to promote each other's works.
Looking over the games themselves, I see that
Victoria 3 has garnered a "
mixed" reception, which is the view I've gotten from watching people stream it, and
Anno 1800 has gotten a "
very positive" reception, which leads me to believe that this has little to do with their reception.
