It instantly was that way for me up until I learned this information which assuaged some of my worries. There was a gamespot hands on vid half a year ago that reported no issues in 40 mins of combat gameplay either with a midgame build.

I loved .hack back in the day. It was like the first dual audio game on ps2 in a dub only era. And they even came with anime ovas. Just because sword art online and other stuff explored that area a ton doesn’t really affect the original. There’s been tons of jrpgs too but when a new dragon quest hits everyone goes bananas despite it being kinda basic. Same principle here.

I don't even bother with the forums. I just go to steam to down mode and play the game I'm interested in, and that's it. It's still upsetting to hear and that Valve does nothing about this.

It isn't the customer's problem that the developers are upset the customer doesn't like their thing. This just happened with Highguard and will continue to happen because the real gaming audience isn't going to change. I hate to say it but this mass shaming campaign and calling gamers toxic is never going to work and only going to double down on gamer's shit-talking your "woke trash" or whatever it is.
There are two ways to fix it.
1. Make better games period. The "wokehate" on a game that is actually very good is minimal (you can never total eliminate criticism and you shouldn't even try). Understanding that everything, even the best of the best things get hate that's just the way it works.
2. Stop slinging message filled propagandized trash video games in the first place.
Oh I guess there is a 3rd thing too.
3. Just ignore it and stop feeding the trolls.
There is a reason why gamers have created groups like this to hunt down and warn people of subpar and message influenced games, and it's simply because people are tried of it. Nobody likes to be preached to, nobody likes having their suspension of disbelief shattered for some obvious "woke-tropes". That's why people are flagging Sweet Baby Inc games, or otherwise labeled things.
And frankly they are the customers, they have the right to express and review negatively the things that they dont like. Articles like this only showcase that groups and comments like that actually work and get under people's skin in an effort to influence the industry to go in different directions.

You clearly haven't learned a thing your time away, and still fall for it, since that's your answer. Try telling people that shit Famiboards. Steam never bothers to moderate their actual forums and are too lazy as well. Makes me appreciate, the few forums that are left where the mods actually have backbones and are not afraid to stump on anybody acting out of line, or peddle alt-right shit disguised as something else.

You know David, some creators might be a little more supportive of new games being released on the franchise that they created, espeically when the new games aren't a cluster fuck of mess.
I mean FFS, you make it sound like Kratos and Deimos were always these battle-hardened warriors since they were babies. It's true that Spartan boys were raised with harsh discipline, but you can't expect them to not be amateurs and hot-blooded at their age in this game.
This game is a far better representation of what you original games were like; You should feel lucky it's not getting Aassassin's Creed or Dragon Age Veilguard treatment

I can understand that new Kratos doesn't exactly fit the original vision you had for the character you created, but frankly his comments read as him just being bitter that they made more God of War games (that were fucking better) without him. New Kratos is a deeper character, a more learned character, and a more interesting character that still is technically the same guy but you can see he's learned from his experiences in the previous games.
One thing about the Trilogy remakes i'm going to be sad about is that he'll go back to being a shallow nothing character in very cool but ultimately hallow games.
I stopped taking anything David Jaffe had to say seriously when he claimed that Metroid Dread was a badly designed game.
I stopped taking him seriously pretty much after the PS3 Twisted Metal and and that one other game, he made to strike out on his own, and bombed horribly.
