So there will now be a studio dedicated for all future BF games, spearheaded by DICE, supported by various other studios. Along with that, they are gonna have closed-door testing sessions for anyone interested, called BF labs.

Sounds good on the paper, except
  1. Multi-studio projects that stretches across globe has rarely worked (see ME: Andromeda)
  2. BF Labs is basically qa testing and feedbacks from playerbase. And EA has never listen to what players want. I don't see how this will be any different?
  3. They have A LOT of work to get back the trust of everyone who has left the franchise. Me included
Not gonna lie, what a hard video to get through. I have nothing against these developers but if they're not actually talking about the game, then I have no interest in what they have to say.

Also the whole "Battlefield Studios" shit is hilarious when they wouldn't stop talking about how many studios were involved with 2042. Are we supposed to pretend more studios is still a good thing?

Sigh. Hate to be such a downer about one of my favorite franchises but I refuse to ever get excited about a Battlefield game again.

"In order to break beyond the core audience, games need to directly connect to the evolving demands of players who increasingly seek shared-world features and deeper engagement alongside high-quality narratives in this beloved category. Dragon Age had a high quality launch and was well-reviewed by critics and those who played; however, it did not resonate with a broad-enough audience in this highly competitive market."

That's from a quarterly financial call i.e. it's not meant for consumers, but for shareholders. So no, it's not delusional. Wilson is just telling them whatever puts them at ease.

So, you know, bullshit.

It did well with critics because you publishers have the critics in your back pocket! What a fucking jackass.
If only they could've gotten three million critics to buy it.

As I've said before (can't remember which thread), it's like these publisher big-wigs are in competition to see who can say the dumbest, most out-of-touch, corporate PR bullshit. And they always find ways to 1-up each other.
