Had he acknowledged how shitty Joel's death was, eat some of that humble pie, and maybe NOT antagonize even the contructive criticisms, I probably would've been a bit more excited.
I know you are not, but it still didn't excuse all the sexual harassment and death/rape threats to a voice actor who had nothing to do with his writing and only did her job.

I mean Amy Hening is long gone, and I found Uncharrted 4 was trying mimic her writing style, but didn't really land with me. Uncharted 1-3 all had great story, regardless of their gameplay
Those stupid random spiders beg to differ.

Not to mention Sully apparently knowing Drake as a young teen and partnering up with him, which puts Sully in an extremely questionable light. Amy Henning knows how to keep things light and breezy, and the dialoge snappy, but the story of Uncharted 3 was horrid.

Oh and make Cassie a Lesbian for absolutely no reason; Now, I don't give a fuck on what is the sexuality of a character, but I want to see them actually develop a romantic relationship and chemistry. Or give context regarding how long they have known each other. But knowing Neil, he will most likely not do that, have Cassie kiss another girl out of nowhere, and call anyone who criticizes the terrible writing "bunch of haters"
Wut?

To reiterate... WUT?

In Uncharted 2 Drake sleeps with Chloe in their second scene together - the scene in which we learn they actually know eachother. Was that out of pocket or forced, or were we supposed to conclude from that scene that they actually have history together? How is that different from Ellie and Dina? Or is this still about that one trailer that people got homophobic about? Whether or not you like the relationship not one kiss between Ellie and Dina (or Riley) is out of nowhere. But the fact that you describe any kiss between these two as having someone be a lesbian for no reason... Really, dude!?

Maybe I pharsed all that wrong.

Just went back to check and compare the two scenes;
In Uncharted 2, Chloe does mention they actually did have a history

"let's not forget who walked out on who, you don't get to be jealous; If it makes you feel any better, my relationship with Flynn is strickly professional".

They do end up hooking up immediately afterwards, but I guess for Nathan it sort-of re-kindled that spark with her?

As for Ellie and Dina scene, taken out of context, it actually does appear to come out of nowhere; while their dialog is pretty flirty, there is no indication that they had a chemistry together in the past, other than being friendly. I even searched through the wiki page regarding Dina; there is nothing indicating they had something. Now we know Ellie was a Lesbian, but Dina was with Jesse a few days prior to that moment, so I wouldn't have guessed that Dina was a Lesbian as well.

THAT BEING SAID, I will admit their scene does work when taking the rest of the game into consideration; This scene happens quite late into the game, serving as a flashback on how their relationship started.

So yeah, it wasn't as out-of-the-blue as I had remembered. My bad on the horrible take.

However, I still think Neil is gonna fuck up Uncharted 5 in terms of narrative.

I guess I am not the biggest fan of any horribly-written romance; I.E. pretty much any relationship-building in Dragon Age Veilguard, Sonic and the princess in Sonic '06, Jacob Taylor in ME2/3, marrying an random NPC in Skyrim, etc

Dina isn't a lesbian, she's bi. And the thing with that scene is that it "comes out of nowhere" in as much as that this is their first kiss, they're both a little tipsy and they start out slow dancing.

Dude just needs to get out of his own way. Neither the first TLoU or Uncharted 4 had the cynical antagonism of The Last of Us Part 2, and from the first look of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet it's atleast not drowing in its own misery. That is if Druckmann is even the writer/creative director of the next Uncharted, because I don't know if we even have confirmation on that. Because I think Shaun Escayg, the creative director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, posted a picture from Trinidad about research, which apparently is a hint to the new Uncharted.

But putting all that aside, would a new Uncharted even really work anymore? I mean, both U3 and U4 were about Drake needing to stop this dangerous life style, and by the end of U4 he and Elena and their daughter are living their perfect little lives. If Cassie is going to be the main character are we just going to do the same thing again? Drake started treasure hunting because he was poor and wanted to measure himself as a cool adventurer because he was an orphan. Cassie was raised in wealth and a loving family, so why would she throw herself into danger for artifacts? Also, the real world as it is now might not look as positively anymore on rich white Americans going to third-world countries to have explosive motorcycle chases.

To be honest I could excuse a lot of narrative fuckery as long as the sense of discovery and exploration is on point. Solving ancient puzzles, discovering ancient cities and artifacts. I'm all for climbing on some statue to push a secret button that reveals a hithertofore sealed cave or some such.

For the same reason the original Lara Croft did. Adventure. Not that I'm advocating for Cassandra as protagonist. Keep the family crap out of Uncharted, please. It's not too late to correct course. The stories of Uncharted 3 and 4 were so much more self-important and disruptive to the gameplay than in the first two.

Sony Pictures Animation has some of both the best and worst animated films I've seen. We'll have to see where this one lands, but I'm willing to give it a chance.
Their output has been pretty great, ever since Spider-Verse. I know the Emoji movie was everyone's punching bag, but I felt people dwelled on that film for way too long. I didn't bother to see this terrible movie, but I never felt any hatres, because it was never worth it.

Oh hell tf yes if this bill passes; Although I feel the game publishers would always find a loophole
Then those publishers better start making offline versions and eat the cost. They know they can afford it. They just don't want to do it because they don't want people having copies of games or only under their arbitrary and strict terms.

Bloodborne is getting an animated r-rated movie. Which is exactly what everyone hoped for.
Not only that, but it's being produced by Sean "JackSepticEye" McLoughlin, who is probably one of the biggest fanboys of the game in the world. Not a guarantee of quality, but definitely a stacking of the deck in the movie's favor.

If Markiplier can make a killer movie, why can't Jack. I hope he doesn't fuck it up.

It also retroactively makes Sully's supposed betrayal of Nate in the first game implausible. After what we learn about them in 3, I don't think Drake's Fortune Nate would have ever realistically considered the possibility of Sully betraying him, and definitely would have more of an emotional reaction to him dying and/or turning on him.

Yep!

I don't necessarily mind a retcon of that size, but both Nate and Sully are crooks so even if they are friends the concept of one screwing the other over is likely in the back of both of their minds. There was also no reason to show how they met up - Drake is a scavenger going around the world to loot and Sully is a smugler with a plane. The audience can put two and two together. And ofcourse Sully taking an impressionable young boy under his wing to nuture his criminal ways... fucking eww!

If they wanted that flashback in Uncharted 3 they should've ended it right when Sully shot the guy holding Drake at gunpoint. Then have Sully say like 'go home kid' and leave. That could've created an interesting new dynamic to their relationship, where maybe Drake knew all along that Sully was that guy from his past, but Sully didn't remember him when they met back up years later. And it would've not made Sully a creep who employed a 14-year old boy to do crimes.

I honestly don't know what I hate more; that flashback in Uncharted 3, or the reveal that Nate's mom was some brilliant archeologist in Uncharted 4, highlighting how it's 'in his blood', ugh.
