It's a facial scan, and she looks pretty much nearly exactly like she did in daredevil. Possible hair color aside. She still looks great, and takes care of herself more than any of those dweebs.

The game made it clear, it's pretty much a side prequel story that runs concurrent with the fourth mainline game. Not really filler. GoW Ascension is filler. This new game is definitely gonna set something up for the next game.

"Giant" in these games (and really most Norse myths) merely identifies the inhabitants of Jotunheim, not necessarily gigantic in size or otherwise physically "othered". I don't know if we ever get a reason why some of them would be literally gigantic though.
Just giants really. The frost is optional and it's implied and stated they can change sizes that will. Those suits, she's a natural giant, we don't know her entire skill set.
