“a more open ecosystem to invite more developers, to have more types of games, to invite more players.”
So that was a fucking lie

When they say "locking in", I certainly hope that also indicates price won't increase any further....right?
Not exactly.

The agreements don't mean all memory prices are fixed for five years. They apply to 16 specific strategic customers. And they involve price bands (floor and ceiling), not a single fixed price. If market prices fall sharply, those customers continue paying at least the negotiated floor; if prices spike, they're protected by the ceiling. So prices can still fluctuate strongly depending on how wide those price bands are.

It also doesn't mean those 16 customers won't increase their consumer product prices regardless of what price they're procuring memory at.

I'm gonna take up watching movies, as gaming burns itself alive.
The constant push for technological advancement has become unsustainable and when coupled with various forms of global corruption, a relatively safe prediction would be that we’ll be due for a total systemic collapse within a decade.

The Steam Summer Sale is on, and I think outside of the id Software and TR collection deals from many years ago, this has been the best yet for me personally.

I already had Metro 2033 and Last Light, but just picked up the whole collection, including the Redux versions and Exodus which I didn’t have, for just $5.04. What a deal!

I also got HL: Alyx for $15, which netted me a couple Steam trading cards for whatever that’s worth.
