No jk, I non-ironically enjoy watching those doofuses eat shit, sometimes literally, so assuming the world isn't burning by then, day one.
To each their own; glad you're excited, but to me and a lot of people, the Jackass crew has been entirely insufferable since they started 75 years ago or whatever. Even as a kid, when I should have been into their extreme brand of stunt humor, I always just thought "why would anyone do this? Right out of the gate, they jumped the shark from stupid-funny to just painfully stupid. Now that they're in their, what, 50s? Give the world a break from your brand of nonsense; someone's gonna break a hip at this point.

I personally have no interest in the movie, but I know my older brother will be watching. If he invites me, I'll go along with him just to have a good time, because he's my brother. That said, i'm really not gonna get upset over this. Their life and their decision. If your eye into this thing, the best you can do was just move on, and focus on something that makes you happy.

What can I say, my medical situation doesn't permit alcohol or drug use, but the need for oblivion still exists. Gotta nuke my brain somehow.

Not coming to the defense of either, but good luck with that, and fuck off Paramount.

Probably a good idea to avoid the issue of Kratos being built like a brick shithouse entirely. Not that Ryan Hurst doesn't seem in very good shape, but casting someone who's one-to-one with Kratos would've likely ended up as a disaster. Now to make Hurst not look silly with the white make-up and red tattoo.

It does feel a bit sour that one of the biggest characters in modern fiction who was always played by a black man is now given to a white man for the live-action version.

On the one hand, yeah, especially since Chris Judge is already there.

On the other I don't think Kratos' race really matters and anybody who has the brawn, can do the voice and rock the pancake makeup is eligible. At least they didn't just cast Reacher or some wrestler. Triple H kept getting fancast all these years.

Has it been confirmed if they're doing this show in the Norse setting? The guy looks like he'd make a good dad Kratos, but I don't know about young Kratos.

Based on the glimpse I was able to get of Forbes article before the paywall kicked in, it does in fact sound like the series is skipping straight to the Norse arc.

No, I know. I mean, it'd have cool if they actually got a mediterranean actor for the part, but Kratos has always been helmed by a black man, and keeping that tradition going would've been nice.

I assume that while the show will take place in Norse mythology there'll be plenty of flashbacks to ancient Greece. The new games already have Kratos as the typical retired badass living in the woods, the only difference being that the original games functioned as the "flashback". You just know that the show creators or whoever they have on as consultants won't be able resist showing some of the greatests hits from Gow1, 2, and 3 - Fan hype is a valuable commodity.

Yes, let's try again now that Tomb Raider as an IP has become even less relevant.
Tomb Raider has two new games coming out. One year after the other. I do not care for this franchise, but I wouldn't call it even less relevant, when they are still making games for the franchise and are going back to classic look and style.

Yeah, and the same applies to those two games. Has Tomb Raider really mattered after the embarressing deathnail that was Angel of Darkness? The 2013 reboot brought a sliver of life back, but that fizzled out pretty fast with the second game, and that reboot itself isn't even remembered all that fondly anymore.

The only thing keeping this franchise going is its dwindling iconography, and I don't see these two future games (or the movie adaptation) changing that at all.
