50 Cent I stopped giving a shit about years ago, but he does look the part well. I know he can act, so I am giving him a chance. Orville I know nothing about, but he got the Vega look down and everything. I'm all for it.I'm still trying to wrap my head around 50 Cent as Balrog and Orville Peck as Vega.
Orville Peck is a country singer, with no acting credentials other than this movie AFAIK.50 Cent I stopped giving a shit about years ago, but he does look the part well. Good to know. I am still giving him his fair chance.Orville Peck is a country singer, with no acting credentials other than this movie AFAIK.
I dunno about anyone else, but the guy playing Guile has his hair/wig so fucking on point its glorious.I'm still trying to wrap my head around 50 Cent as Balrog and Orville Peck as Vega.
And people hated on the live-action Animal Farm's ending. Not looking so bad now, don't it? I will stick with the older two movie adaptions, and the book. I won't even look at the trailer.
.....WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK.!!!!!
I am quite the fan of the original novel. It's a dark and bleak satire of how soviet came to be and Stalin became one of biggest dochebags in the history (worse than Hitler, IMHO).
But here comes this movie, which basically says "Fuck that noise" and turned into a comedy movie....
I have never been this mad about a book-to-movie adaptation since The Lightning Thief movie in 2010
It stars Seth Rogen. That should tell you what kind movie this isAnd people hated on the live-action Animal Farm's ending. Not looking so bad now, don't it? I will stick with the older two movie adaptions, and the book. I won't even look at the trailer.
UUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It stars Seth Rogen. That should tell you what kind movie this is
While I don't think that was a good movie, what was so bad about it? That made you more angry that a comedy Animal Farm? The latter seems pretty hard to top.I have never been this mad about a book-to-movie adaptation since The Lightning Thief movie in 2010
Of all the things wrong with that trailer, having a gender-flipped version of one character when the original cast was one big sausage fest is the least of the problems. And once again, they gender-flip a character for no reason other than "Because we can, and it's an easy way to win points for wokeness." Unless they have a deeper reasoning than that for Snowball now being a sow, but given the cast and...you know, comedy tone for an ANIMAL FARM ADAPTATION, I highly doubt any thought went into it beyond "this movie needs more girl because reasons".
I was trying to say exactly that; This looks worse than The Lightning Thief. While I don't think that was a good movie, what was so bad about it? That made you more angry that a comedy Animal Farm? The latter seems pretty hard to top.
Oh, I agree. I was just commenting on the thing I figured everyone else would ignore because they were bigger targets. That's just one of my personal pet peeves in adaptations/remakes.Of all the things wrong with that trailer, having a gender-flipped version of one character when the original cast was one big sausage fest is the least of the problems.
Ah, ok, misread you then, I was thinking that you'd be madder then when the Lightning Thief came out if this looked worse.I was trying to say exactly that; This looks worse than The Lightning Thief.
True. Also, they wimp out with turning the stepdad to stone, which they didn't do in the movie. As for what was so bad about The Lightning Thief...
- Aged-up main characters
- Some characters from the book not even showing up
- Derailed plot points from the source material, while telling very surface-level version of the book
- The humor of the book has been butchered
- Percy somehow becoming the master of combat in an instant, whereas he gradually become a capable fighter in the book
- The author, Rick Riordan, also criticized the plot as well
Ah, but because those franchises did well, the trick obviously is to take an existing franchise and turn it into one of those, instead of a faithful adaptation. Narnia comes to mind.Just to name a few. I don't expect the book-to-movie adaptations to always be 100% accurate, but if both LOTR series and Harry Potter series managed to be smashing success without doing so, I don't see why this could've been the same.
I also have heard that, and yeah, also don't want to support Disney. However, I heard the Disney+ series is much better. Haven't watched it yet because I don't want to support Disney in any shape or form
