All in the title. Which generally accepted gaming facts do you believe in/have you grown to believe?

My top three:

1. Whether people like it or not, Halo has made enough money to warrant it's popularity.
2. Some of the best RPGs you'll ever play will be Bioware RPGs.
3. Gabe Newell ate HL2E3.

Call of Duty games, despite no real improvements, will sell eleventy million copies every new installment. (don't get me wrong, I like the franchise, but it's taking the piss now).

Players always stockpile rare/powerful consumables for "a time they'll really need it" and never end up using them.

That one item you really need will only drop when you've stopped thinking/caring about it.

It's still going to be about 10 years before people realize that clever art direction is more valuable than pretty graphics.

I don't care if I get a little bonus gift, I will never pre-order a game.

There just some trophies that I was never meant to get (like the "Killing Machine" trophy in Resistance 2 and every trophy you get from DLC).

in any FPS or 3rd person shoters, if you get shot point blank by any weapon its possible to survive if you hide in a cornor for 5 seconds.

Hitting someone in close combat (even without a close combat weapon) is more powerful than a standard bullet.

If you can complete a mission without any idea of why you're doing it, chances are it's not interesting enough to bother finding out why you are.

Graphics are not as important as artistic design and gameplay, and people will never realise this (Crysis)

A vast open world is only good/interesting if it's varied, and people will never realise this (Oblivion)
