I like to think I'm the clumsy-minded guy. It's a mix between silly, foolish and goofy. Ultimately I'm always aware of my absent-mindedness and with effort (i.e begrudgingly) could hold an intelligent conversation.

I prefer to be on equal footing with my family, since most of us are pretty intelligent so it means we can have intellectual debates and noone will feel left out.

stupid people anger me, so spending time around them is not a shiny idea. smart people have good ideas, can help me with things, and require less hand-holding when introduced to a new idea. i dont mind being viewed as an idiot comparatively.

I usually enjoy being the dumber of the bunch because it give me a little hope that other people in this fucking world have brains and can use them. Also it makes me feel a bit more "normal".

I actually tend to prefer being less intelligent, as I am usually the quiet one and when stupid people talk a lot it gets annoying and boring.

Generally, though, I think that A: I hang out with people of average intelligence, and B: we tend to be knowledgable about some things and less knowledgable about others, so it's hard to compare intelligence in that sense.

We always have lively and entertaining debates, and there's no set winner everytime. We're all pretty even. And don't let me make you think we're all eggheads (what a peculiar word), I went to the door to get our pizza, came back, and they were having a finger gun fight up and down the stairs, which resulted in alot of spilled beer. My flatmates weren't happy either; it was late.

I tend to be the smart one in any group - but this is kind of a drag, really, because it's all genetic and I hate getting credit for it. I enjoy getting into debates because other people's takes on life are usually more interesting than whatever the topic is.

Also, don't confuse "4.0 kids" with "smart kids." School is only an OK barometer of intelligence or useful knowledge. I aced every standardized test I ever took, so I should know.

I'm just smrt, with a capital A. Most of the time, I'm unashamedly me. Every now and then, I cough up a pearl of wisdom that people remember. I try to avoid the arrogant intelligent types, because most of the time, they aren't.

My favourite elitists are the ones who brag about their IQ. They need a number greater than those around them to validate themselves, but cannot handle having this pointed out. Especially by someone with a higher number.

Pretty much this.

I actually prefer it if me and everyone around me are smart so we can all make those really really sad references and everybody gets them... It's the closest some of us will get to real socializing :(.

On the other hand people more intelligent tend to not talk or if they do socially they're freaks (1 guy - brilliant mathematician, soon as I ask him a question all he replies is BUUURZUMMMMM). People who aren't as smart are fine as long as they're not too arrogant - then they just become a bother (see noobs in games. Yes noobs/idiots not newbies/inexperienced.)

I usually throw up when i am around stupid people. I just enjoy having a bunch of people who i can discuss the latest news on Discovery, or having a debate about weather or not the shape of a galaxy depends on the age of the black hole in the center.

I'm very smart in all of my classes in school, except for my A.P. class, then I feel like I'm ridiculously slow beyond belief. I just don't understand how such a chasm of intellectual stability could exist between two levels of school classes.

Well. Most of the time I hang out with my friends I'm average, cause theres the one idiot. And two smart people. :/ The smart people say I'm not dumb. But I know full well I'm not as smart as them. They're about 5 years older than me though, so I shouldn't be. I'm well..Sorta the funny, semi-smart one in the group. :)

You could always divide by zero, but that may cause some universe implosion :p

I've always been the smart guy. Even when i'm with people that are older than i. It's a gift, but it can still be slightly annoying at times when you're treated like a human encyclopaedia and expected to know everything. The joy people get in pointing out when you either don't know or make a simple error is grating.

Well I guess it all depends on the situation for me. I like being the stupid guy if it will result in laughter or a smile. But I like being the smart guy if someone is in need of help or is being just plain stupid. Although when I'm with my family the stupid guy seems to die and I just sort of sit there being somewhere in between the two.

Hmm, well I'm in college and all my friends are in different fields than I am so it's kind of hard for me to gauge my intelligence in comparison to everyone else's. I mean, my friend who is a music major knows much more about music than I ever will, my physics major friend seems much more intelligent when he talks about physics, but I know more about accounting and economics than they do, so it's more different types of intelligence than anything else. I enjoy their company, though. I guess that's all that matters.

I'm usually slightly smarter than most in the group, so pretty much everyone gets my jokes (except for the one idiot). But I can talk to people much smarter than me, without them getting annoyed at me for making them explain things a lot.

This is such a strange thread.

I hang around people who are good at socialising and know how to have a fun time. I don't think I've ever tried to compare IQs to work out the intelligence hierarchy of my friends.

To answer your question though I just like being me and I'll get into intellectual discussions with anyone who is willing.
