Looks like we can't just say its crazy Americans that keep killing each other

What's going on? Why has this macabre fad spread from the US to both Finland and now Germany?
You know, when Canada had a school shooting shortly after the terrible shootings at Columbine, Canadian media labeled it as 'American Style crime in Canada!'

That really annoyed me.

If a crime happens in some country by citizens of that country, it's that country's crime. This isn't 'US' crime in Germany. It's German crime, by Germans, in Germany. By saying otherwise, you're merely trying to point to finger as if crime like that magically wouldn't happen if it didn't happen in the US first.

People kill people, and it doesn't matter what race, country, age, or gender they are.

On topic, I'd say it's the crippling of the authority of the education system and the crippling (Sometime voluntary) of the authority of parents that leads youth like this into thinking that:
1) There are no consequences for their actions
2) There consequences for their actions will be minor
3) They will never get caught, because they are super awesome
4) They will be remembered fondly for doing something cool, mistaking 'cool' for 'evil'.
5) They will be remembered fondly for doing something evil, not really understanding what they are doing.
ya cant say that Just cause It happened there its came from the states, they Dont why he might have killed 15 people
Grammer, dude, use it. What are you trying to say?
because there have been instances where mass shootings at school has happened before, you cant say there origin is from the country in question that it happened in before
the kid may have had a chemical imbalance or may have had a Substance abuse problem, it did say he was a former student meaning he may have had a grudge againsted the school for say crushing his dreams of doing something more with his life

Heroin is illegal but people still manage to find and use it, same thing with guns in the European Union. The real problem is government sponsored education was never a good idea.

So, I'm going to tell you a little bit about the whole situation, given that it happend only 20km from where I go to school...

It's a huge media hype going on in Germany, so you can't be sure if the infos are accurate, but anyhow...

1. This guy was no misfit. Graduated from THAT school last year.
2. Had friends, not many though and was kind of quiet.
3. Had a thing for guns...
4. His parents had 15 guns, all locked up. ONE gun was NOT locked up though, they kept it in the bedroom -.-
5. After killing 9 pupils and 3 teachers (one of whom jumped in front of a pupil, saved him but was killed herself), he ran from the police. While he was on the run, he hijacked a car and shot two other random persons in a car dealership. In the end, there was a gunfight with two police officers, he was wounded and commited suicide.
[EDIT] 6. 16 dead, if you include the gunman.

Well, I guess he got what he wanted. Fame and attention... Of course everyone has a right to know what happend, but there's been nothing else on the news for 6 hours!! And twitter is going crazy about it too...

My sincerest condolences to the families and other pupils.

Is it 15 people or 16? I saw both mentioned, and when the reporter gave the account of the events I counted 16.

And I never saw a number of how many are injured, but it was definetly mentioned that people were injured. Apparently he kidnapped someone too.

And the police raided his home and "recovered 16 weapons believed to be legally owned by his father."

And, of course, as with all killers, everyone says he was an "ordinary boy."
That's because no one really pays attention.

As Christopher Titus once said:

" 'Oh that boys was real quiet, but he always said hi to me though'
So if there is some polite guy in your neighborhood always sayin' hi, take him out.
Cuz that's him"

Nothing heroic about what he did. Not even when said in a sarcastic way.

Read that and you will understand.

As a forewarning, that page being Encyclopedia Dramatica, there's gonna be stuff on there that's probably -really- offensive to some people. Read at your own risk.

Probably 15 victims + the shooter = 16 deaths.

Is that the case that the Rammstein song "Mein Teil" is based off of?
Taaadddaaa! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armin_Meiwes German Crime.

I know that song, but i never made the connection with Armin Meiwes. According to Wikipedia it sure is based off that.
Why oh why did I read that? Anyway, I wonder who the hell watched that videotape. Like, was it shown in the courtroom or did someone volunteer to watch it? Or did they just take his word for it?

there will always be emotionally/chemically/mentally disturbed people and that's a fact. these things never cease to be a tragedy, but my one problem with shootings is that the media is always shocked when the shooter goes for head shots. like it's a special skill that only morally corrupt serial murderers know. fucking everyone knows that head shots ensure efficient kills.

Am I wrong when I assume, that these people are so desperate for attention that they kill others and ultimately themselves, just to go down in history as... well... spree killers?

People always are trying to find causes for stuff like this? Is it THAT hard to simply believe that he was one crazy muthafucka?
