I hate getting up at 9:00 AM on Sundays. I have to be up that early to get ready and get to my job by 10:00 AM. The main reason I hate it is because I have a hard time falling asleep at night.

Well, I'm on "holidays" (studying for exams) and I've been staying home, so I can at least wake up at a reasonable hour. When classes start though, I'm gonna have to wake up at 7:30 a lot more times. What pisses me off is that on Wednesdays I have to wake up early to go to just one class.

I actually prefer getting up early. Waking up after 11am makes me feel like I already slept the day away. I prefer morning lectures over evening lectures because it leaves the rest of the day free once they're complete, and it allows me to actually find parking (which is a big deal when the college I go to has 55,000 students, ~1,000 faculty and staff members, and only ~18,000 parking spots). The only days I sleep in are on the weekends and on holidays, but usually after I wake myself up at 6am to keep my routine.

So no, I don't hate getting up early. Sometimes it sucks, but usually that's my fault for trying to go against my schedule.

I get up at 4.00 for my son's feed, then up at 6.30 to get my daughter out of her cot. Then I have a coffee and spend some time with her until I shower at the last minute and leave ten minutes late at 8.00. I've gotten used to it.

A little something from Desmond Dekker to put a little bounce in your early morning steps.

I was gonna get up early today, like half 6 - for college.

But I overslept and got up at half past 11.

Damn.

This topic came on a good day!

I was up at 6am this morning to prepare for my national Test. The wind was cruel!

For anyone who cares.. I think I passed it =)

Now that I go to bed at about 2 AM, I get maybe four hours of sleep a day. I need to set my alarm to go off about ten different times to make sure I don't fall back to sleep for another three hours.

Eh...I like getting up early. It means that I am not sleeping, which is always a good thing.

8:15am, college soon, it is absolutely freezing outside; fog and everything. Whole day ahead of me and all I want to do is sleep.

See you on the other side...
That's it? I have to get up at 5:00 AM so that I can shower, eat breakfast, and drive down to college for my class that starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 11:00 AM.
Worse when yesterday I didn't get until 1pm, didn't get to sleep last night until 2am and had to go to college and use a fucking spot welder.

But, on reflection of the day; it was quite fun.

I'm up around 7am or before every single day.
It's dark, I'd freeze my fucking balls off if I had any and on weekends nearly all TV channels are still showing god awful shopping programmes until 9/10am as they assume everyone is in bed still or drunk/hungover so don't give a crap. Do. Not. Want.

It all depends on the season for me, in summer i hardly sleep as the combination of light evenings and mornings seems to make me sleep less and get up more readily.

In winter though you may need one of these to get me up ->

I haven't been sleeping well recently, so these mornings hurt all the more. I only really need to wake up early on mondays and wednesdays, but they always seem to be the days I actually manage to get some sleep. Nothing is more annoying than finally getting some proper, restful sleep after a few inexplicably sleepless days only to have it interupted far too early for me to actually get much benefit out of it.

Ah well. Hopefully the upcoming half term will give me enough of an opportunity to reclaim some humane sleep patterns.
