I like a lot of the designs from Armored Core 4, Aaliyah was definitely up there, but my favorite would probably be LahireWindknight said:Aaliyah from Armored Core 4
I once had to fight giant death robot rebels with xcom squads. That was pretty cool. Using them can be fun.The "mech" is a giant bipedal mechanical robot armed with a variety of missiles, Gatling gun arms, laser-beam eyes and a deadly kung-fu punch. Although not currently found on the modern battlefield, no doubt across the world governments and evil corporations are secretly developing these metal behemoths even as we speak. When these mechs come into service, all of the world's other weaponry will become obsolete, and humanity's fate will be decided by a climactic battle between armies of good and evil mechs in the streets of downtown Tokyo. (Assuming that the giant radioactive monsters don't get us first.)

That scale picture is so off its not even funny. I mean the largest man-made giant robot and it's not even taller than Lady Liberty? Come on! And I like to think a Warlord is at least as tall as Gypsy Danger, and she's 80 meters.AccursedTheory said:
As with many things in Warhammer 40k, the numbers change over time and between authors. Anthony Reynolds describes Titans and Mechanicus siege engines large and powerful enough to level mountains. Dan Abnett describes Reavers as being small enough to hide in the admittedly large industrial buildings that litter the Imperium, while Emperor class titans tower above any structure not part of a hive.Silentpony said:AccursedTheory said:

And Imperator Titans can go up against Reapers and win, hands down. I mean they actually say in the books an Imperator titan has kilometer long weapons! Kilometer! And it was one of the smaller guns! Imperators have entire aircraft carriers worth of launching pads and hangers in their shoulder mounted castles! Enough space for entire Divisions worth of humans or multiple companies of Space Marines. They're monstrous, in every sense.
And that doesn't even include the Nemesis Psi-Titans or the Apocalypse God Titans, which are even larger!
Yeah, 100ft or 30m is a common given height for a Warlord Titan. There is an Imperator variant that can launch a single plane, and they can have platoons of Guard in their feet in Epic, I believe.AccursedTheory said:As with many things in Warhammer 40k, the numbers change over time and between authors. The scale I provided comes from the actual table top game miniatures. It's ultimate up to each individual person to decide if they go by the game, which has a more stable outlook, but also more reasonable scale, or if they'd rather dial it to 11 and pick their favorite Black Library author (Which is what I prefer, to be honest).
GW writers can't numbers. They can't numbers at all.Silentpony said:That scale picture is so off its not even funny. I think this one of my larger issues with Warhammer 40k, the introductory stuff was pretty neat and cool, but the deeper I got the sillier things got. When none of the factions have enough redeeming qualities to sympathize with them, while pulling silly buggers like that... I give up. Warhammer 40k made me give up on it.AccursedTheory said:As with many things in Warhammer 40k, the numbers change over time and between authors.
