Danny if your saying that living In Glasgow I may need to kill you... Edinburgh is a pain in the arse for gigs, we don't have the good medium venues that some of my favourite bands would need, and there doesn't seem to be any very active gig goers - tis wierd. Anyway, gig experiences -
Those I have made it to have almost all been brilliant so I'll list a few great one's -
Dirty Pretty Things - the actually talented Carl Baret from the libertines, unlike his junky friend, they came on 45 minutes late, but absolutely rocked the whole place, I think at least 600 people all going mental and charging towards the stage, my first gig and still the one with the most manic and energetic atmosphere.
Razorlight supported by the editors - don't care what people say, Razorlight are, or at least were before their 3rd album bloody good, hate Jonny Borrell with a passion, but Golden Touch, Somewhere else and Stumble and Fall played to a massive stadium pitch full of fans who knew all of the words, its really something to have thousands of people singing along perfectly word to word to Golden Touch!

I've been to a fair few others but those 2 were the standouts, only other bands I would really want to see at the moment are Gogol Bordello, K'naan, and Great Big Sea, look them up on youtube, as they are a great selection of Gypsy Punk, Somalian meaningful rap, and a Newfoundland Folk Rock band ^^

Oh, and hopefully in the future I'll be able to add Leeds Festival this summer to the list of awesome gigs :p
PROTIP: Use "QUOTE" when replying to posts.

No, I don't live in Glasgow, but I got the impression while I was there that there's a big indy scene.

Unfortunatly I fucking hate indy music.
yeah, sorry, meant to quote you, usually do, but ah well, yeah, its still got a pretty big scene in most types of music, certainly most bands I know play there, and any kind of big band tend to visit there on tour

Going to see Cancer Bats tomorrow!
YEAH!!!
Saw them in Glasgow last Wednesday my friend. Incredible, they're like a physical human manifestation of the drug speed. Nothing like throwing yourself around in a crowd of people to 'Sorceress'. Met them afterwards too, lovely blokes.

I have had several concerts that I've wanted to go to, one of them was a concert with SLIPKNOT, Trivium, and Coheed and Cambria. Mind you Slipknot is like..my favorite band man. Along with a bunch of others but I would do almost anything to see them live.

Just last Saturday I saw Nightwish at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square. It was AWESOME! They give such an amazing live performance.

There's no other feeling like having 4,000 people sing along to every word of 'Wish I Had An Angel' whilst jumping up and down, head banging, and just rocking out. So intense and epic, it was a helluva lot of fun.

Seeing The Flaming Lips live was one of the best moments of my life. It was awesome. The balloons, the confetti, the giant hamster ball, the ear-shatteringly loud music, awesome.

I went to see The Wiggles once so I could yell obscenities at them whilst surrounded by children, I got my ass kicked, it was awesome. Usually i'm a nice guy, but they just really fucking annoy me.

I just came back from seeing GWAR - fucking awesome. Five dudes in crazy, giant spiky monster costumes, decapitating various celebrity look-alikes and spraying blood all over the crowd. And the music was damn good too, better than I expected (I had never really listened to them before). And for you Guitar Hero fans, Priestess opened for them, playing "Lay Down" among other songs.

Awesome.

You'd be surprised by how many people know them.

I love Undestructable, Supertheory of Supereverything, Illumination and Super Taranta.

They're a really great band.

I was talking to my dad the other day, and he was telling me about all the gigs he went to in the seventies and eighties.

He's been to Deep Purple, Mott the Hoople, David Bowie(twice!), AC/DC and Humble Pie.

I was so jealous.

My dad got to see Queen at a five hundred person venue right after they'd released Night at the Opera. That would have been epic.
