Now I'll be the first one to say this girl needs psychiatric help and that white guilt isn't good for anything. But saying European Imperialism and the institution of slavery "should have nothing to do with our present" is just...well, wrong.

I'm not saying it wasn't a bad thing. I just think that you shouldn't use that to guilt others. In my opinion, such a bad thing should be put in the past and not brought into the present. I have the same opinions towards a lot of things.

This is actually very disquieting. The accusations of a white person "raping all her ancestors" and threatening, even if empty, to kill people for a difference in opinion? I would think that we as a species had evolved significantly enough to be more eloquent. As a culture, and as a species, we are only as good as our lowest denominator. That was it, right there.

This is why I hate being white. I can never have that kind of righteous rage, over the injustices that were done to ancestors long past. All i can do is bottle my guilt over what's been done.

White folks will never escape this horrible stain that we've caused, we can never repair the damage done.

I just wish that we could...somehow.

Awesome video, if I do say so myself, and the general hypothesis is that she participated in some protests for a black kid named Trayvon and was incensed from that during the course.

I don't know what the Trayvon case has to do with evolution. The whole Trayvon thing is a thing less because of any racial issue and more because there's overwhelming evidence that a guy killed a kid, completely unprovoked, as the kid was screaming for help, and yet the cops do absolutely nothing about it. People would be just as pissed about it if it were a white kid, the point is the police aren't doing their job.

I didn't watch the video (I'm in the library lol) but it seems to me like this girl is high on something. When I clicked this thread, I expected the girl to be like a fundamentalist christian or something. Nobody's believed any of that bullshit about white people being "more highly evolved" than black people for like fifty years or something.

Oh, Trayvon had nothing to do with evolution. The girl was just really racist/pissed/both and used evolution as an excuse to bring it up. Given the words coming from her mouth, she seems to think it's a "white vs black" thing (despite the killer being Hispanic), and tries to take it out on random students and professors rather than the (for lack of a better word) fucking pigs that are letting a murderer walk free.

OP here, I think that this allowed some good discussion on race and the stresses of college/university, and what should be done to people like this.

Plus it's good entertainment, just like video games.

I am actually really surprised nobody clubbed her. I think at my university she would not have lasted two minutes.

People dont just go crazy like that so she is either on a lot of drugs or was always insane. Stress does not cause you to go nuts like that, being nuts causes you to go nuts.

Oh when she hit one of the others in the front row I would have positioned myself behind her ready to restrain her arms... then when she pushed the professor... locked.
She ended up being tasered by the police.

College can be extremely stressful and students flip out for all sorts of reasons. Heck, there were a few semesters during my university days where I have to plead temporary insanity for some of the horrible decisions I made under stress.

True, college can be stressful enough under the best of circumstances, but then you can have people pulling all nighters, sometimes more than once in a row, and people can get kind of crazy. My best friend once spent the better part of two days in the computer lab with not more than a couple of hours sleep crammed in somewhere. He said he went to one of his classes and was starting to hallucinate and came to the realization that the formula for Jesus' love was Crucifix squared. After that he just went home and crashed because he knew he'd been up far too long.

Oh man, I stayed up for five days with about five hours sleep in total (sleep deprivation makes you think more sleep deprivation will make more things get done), by the last day I hallucinated fish coming out of my professor's face during physics lecture.... a pixelated goldfish. Still went to my next class, because I make great and wise decisions like that.

I have yet to experience college (looking forward to it but now, well, look at the video) but I pulled an all nighter twice in a row and finished my first playthrough of DA2 on the second night.

lasted like 2 1/2 hours.

The next day I went to school and I felt like the Statues that came to life were jumping out of the walls! I even stopped abrubtly in the middle of the hallway when I saw a red lazer beam rushing toward me and caused someone next to me to hit a locker with their face.

I felt bad about but hey, what are you gonna do?
