Someone who works on my website and a good friend of mine has signed up for 'Go Dry for July', a sponsored 'not drinking for a month' charity event to raise money to support adult Cancer patients in Australia.

The number will go towards medicine, equipment and care at a number of Australian hospitals (There's more information in the link I give at the bottom).

If you're feeling generous, you can donate as little as $1AUD to the cause.

My girl is trying to stop drinking...so she got rid of anything with alcohol.

...Well, there goes my supplier...

So, yeah, I think we can stop drinking for a month.

Yeah, and now they can't even swear about not being allowed to drink!

Anyway, I like the idea.

I know their also banning swearing, I mean, most Australians I meet list their favourite past times as Drinking and Swearing.

This is a good cause though.

Edit;
damn it, I'll get you next time NINJA!

At least it's not in Ireland or Scotland :p
I thought this meant not drinking anything :| I could see a problem with that, lol.
I'd donate but I have about 50p in my bank account until next fortnight T_T

I thought she meant all fluids! Phew, just the booze.

Being 16, I can do this, shame I'm in England.

Calumon: If your dry, then have a bath. I don't want to see someone with crusty skin! >.<

Meh, I think I'd rather just donate to cancer research and then celebrate the occasion with my main man Jack. ^_^

It's just giving up something to raise money for a good cause.
Movember is way better. Growing a mo' for charity.

Might steal my Ma's HRT pills and put her name down this year. :D

Except that's only in Queensland but don't lets something like facts get in the way.
It was more of a jokey comment, so facts don't really factor in crap comedy.

I actually did Movember two or three years ago, I can't remember damn it.

Reading the title it sounded like some kind of abstinence thing. :D Seriously though: not drinking in July? The summer holidays are the PRIME drinking days. Not sure I'd be able to resist a cold beer on a terrace in the sun in July even if it would literally cure cancer. You can only expect so much from me Australia!

Why don't they start a thing where you donate $1 for every drink that you have. They would make allot more money that way.

Except July is in the middle of winter.

OT: Bugger that, I'd rather get drunk. And I donate to other charities.

I'm confused. How would you gain money if someone doesn't drink? Do they have to go out and get sponsers like "I'm not drinking for a month, money plz."

1. Stop drinking for a month
2. Tell people
3. ????
4. Profit!
