I love it when people say "Go outside." Go outside and do what? I'm twenty. I don't play pirates or lose my ball in Old Man Creedy's yard. I want to save money, I'm getting my own place soon.

I dunno, I'm reading too much into this. My head hurts.

I do go outside a lot though, although it's mostly for things that I need to do like school (breaks) and work
I probably spend a bit too long inside, but it doesn't bother my Dad too much I don't think
If I was fat, it would probably be a different story.

My parents don't often tell me to go outside because there are not many kids my age in my village, and those who are aren't really my friends, although they might tell me to get off the computer and do something "constructive". I just leave my computer on to listen to music and then go back on when I'm bored.

Today's different though because it's snowing so they're telling me to make the most of it which is fair enough, so I'm going sledging with some friends later.

I have my own apartment, no girlfriend, most of my friends are nerds and my nearest relative lives around 400km away. Nobody tells me to go play outside. :p
(Also, I don't have time for nonsense like that, I'm studying all day for exams anyway.)

"Play"? What is this "play" you speak of? I work outside. A lot, thanks to living in the middle of nowhere.

as for the rest of you

Yeah, and do what? Actually, and I'm full serious here too. I do want to be able to go outside, but honestly, I don't know what I'd do anyways that even interesting in the slightest.

Well if anyone were to tell me that right now, I'd kindly remind them that it's -23 degrees Celcius outside right now. Still, it got warmer. Was -31 this morning.

Minus 7? Ha! Casual. I walked to the corner store yesterday and it was minus 14. Get on my level.

(Never fucking again. Im moving to Spain or something. I cant take this cold, its fucking insane.)
Minus 14 you say?

Allow me to counter that with the -33 C I had to endure when I walked to the university this friday. Damn I want my beard back.

OT
Yeah, my parents used to do that when I was a kid. Only in the summer though

Going outside when you live in Glasgow is generally considered a bad idea unless you particularly enjoy being stabbed, bottled, head butted or even just verbally abused and that's just what the girls do to you.Oh yeah and its cold but that the least of your worries.

There's two foot of snow outside my door!
(I'll use that all year round if it stops me from having to leave the house!)

I budget like crazy to go to Cape Town every summer - THERE I got outside and do stuff, cause you know, its got a climate where thats a feasible option.

Here in Ireland? Its freakin 0 degrees outside =( And rains like 5 days a week. Also, Im 20. What would I do out there...? Outside is for going to the next inside!

EDIT: Heh, after reading some temperaturs up there ^ 0 isnt really a cause for complaining I see =P But its still too cold to run around and act like Im not 20.

When I was younger my parents used to "trade time" as in you go outside and play with your friends and then you can play video games again...
It wasn't really 1 hour out 1 hour game but rather I had been playing for 2-3 hours (at age of 10) and they told me to go outside, I had fun there so forgott time and could be outside for several hours.

Do your parents/partner/spouse ever tell you to get off the computer? How do you get out of it?

Me? I'm lucky, my girlfriend is also a gamer! =]
We had heavy snowfall last night where I live, so no, I don't want to go outside, nor am I being told to.

-33? Holy shit. Where do you live? I cant imagine how cold that must be.

Getting kinda off topic here, but yeah.
In the very north of Sweden. It isn't usually this bad, just a few weeks in February.

(Except last year, of course... but last year was extreme)

Going outside is too risky. Just look at someone wrong and they might report you as a terrorist, stalker, harasser, perv, etc. Then the gov has cameras everywhere, make a wrong turn get a notice in the mail you are guilty of violating city code XXX123 whatever... no I'm staying in till the apocalypse knocks sense into people

Eh, I hate games that go too far for realism. The controls felt slow and unresponsive, and this being in the UK, the aesthetics were all grey and dull.
