An evolution of an archaic, incredibly flawed character is a positive step I think. That type of raging testosterone doesn't last all through life and redemption is always an interesting exploration of humanity. He gave in to his primal state of emotion at the expense of everything and everyone, people often try to find redemption in their children if they feel they cannot redeem themselves, it's just another state of maturity, something which the God of War series could probably do with. The previous games have always been an entertaining exploitation of pure, unbridled testosterone, but that evidently got old fast. I appreciate the direction being taken. People do learn and change, even when it is late in their lives and the damage is beyond repair.
