Wow, 4 quotes in quick succession. To those defending Teddy, there were plenty of times where she instigated the flames, and retaliating with verbal flak because someone said something you don't like about your opinion is just immature. Also, the Escapist as a site/community has a reputation and atmosphere that the mods try to keep friendly. When one user consistently violates posted standards of behavior, don't be surprised if she gets disciplined.

So lately I've been pretty idle on the Escapist, I think yesterday was the first time I've been on in nearly a month.

Naturally, I had a whole bunch of messages to sift through, and one of them (actually, one of the only ones I actually read) was about... The unthinkable, the Escapist's very own DementedTeddy's been banned! This is old news, and most likely there have been dozens of threads about this, but I gotta admit, I'm surprised.

Even though she was constantly in some sort of trouble with the mods, she managed to avoid this sort of thing for the most part.

She was pwned whilst doing what she does best, pwning others. She'll be missed by me, and many others I'm sure.

Conversation value: Why does this place go to hell when I become a cynical bastard and leave for a little bit? Not that I influenced it, I'm not really known here anyways, but still.

Getting more to the point: Have you ever had something like this happen, where you don't check up on something and find out that shit's happened? Well, I guess that's what happens when you don't check back, you miss things.

Anyways, enough rambling.

Well what specifically did she get banned for?

And I'm sure she could just as easily make a new account or appeal to the mods in some way.

She was banned for consistently upholding her beliefs in her standard way. Slinging insults, facts, and blunt realizations at her unwitting target(s) all at once and in such a way that you either like her or you don't like her.

And yeah, she could just make a new account (I've never heard of a banned individual appealing to the mods before) but I think that once you do that the mods have a right to ban once again if the person comes back saying it's them, so really she'd have to come back anonymously methinks.

Oh no, someone got banned for flaming? I wouldn't call that the Escapist going to hell. I'd call that the Escapist staying right on the straight and narrow.

Yeah, but she really only flamed in retaliation to people flaming her. And she tried to keep it as on topic as possible too, it's not like she ONLY posted large pictures of middle fingers, she also stated facts, evidence and various other things to support her large pictures of middle fingers.
