These kind of threads are pointless, we all know that Chuck Norris is the the most powerful movie monster ever...

I'm going to say Godzilla...mainly because you know...he could just step on King Kong.

With Cloverfield in the Mix? Likely the Cloverfield monster, I've never seen the movie though so I don't know how strong it is.

Let'sa see...

Huge ape, with no real powers, and no wins... or a gigantic lizard with nuclear breath, that has taken down a ton of ginormous monsters?

Plus, Gojira's title is, in fact, King of the Monsters.

I don't see how this is even a real question.

Godzilla would win in this stupid thread. Personally I think we should be discussing what we would do if they decided to work together.

Godzilla had Jena Reno and Matthew Broderick so movie wise Godzilla makes better movies.

Now to answer the question you actually asked; Clearly Godzilla wins!
He is obviously superior and by far the more badass, ass kicking mosnter!

In the american release, Kong wins, in Japan, Godzilla wins. Kind of a neat way to make a movie, eh?

Actually, the alternate ending thing was just a rumor. I have both the English and Japanese versions and nothing is changed except the parts with the American guys are gone and there are a few 'new' scenes.
Hmmmm... I find that strange. My DVD ends with them both falling down into the water. Cut-scene. End. Whereas my old VHS ends with King-Kong wading through the water, and Godzilla sinking into the depths (logical, as he sleep underwater anyway). Either way, those were the two ending I have. What do you mean rumor?

There was a rumor that in the Japanese version Godzilla wins, but it has been denounced by Toho for some time now.
Well that's just silly, if Toho had done that then they would have lost all marketability for the Kong copyright. Why would they let a borrowed character die?
