Has anyone ever bought anything from gog.com? Are they legit and will they steal my credit card info/identity or anything? Thanks.
Err, i don't see why shop would have anything to do with it's products other than selling them.veloper said:They are legit, but they had nothing to do with those games and many dev studios that made those games have long passed away.
If you buy there, you're just supporting the Witcher devs, which is cool if you want to that.
They're one of the best game outlets on the internet. Excellent support, prices and great content.Wayneguard said:Has anyone ever bought anything from gog.com? Are they legit and will they steal my credit card info/identity or anything? Thanks.
Well, there are online game retailers, Steam is one I can highly recommend. I have in the neighbourhood of 50-60 games or so, all bought there. I've encountered nothing but good service and it gets especially exciting come summer or winter time, as they have special sales around those times. That's where I bought the majority of my games on Steam seeing as some of those offers are simply too good to refuse.GiantRaven said:gog.com is the best digital delivery service. I wish there was an equivalent for more modern games.
gog.com - DRM Free. Do not need to utilise gog.com service in order to play a game. Implies actual ownership of a game.Sp3ratus said:Well, there are online game retailers, Steam is one I can highly recommend.
Ah, okay, I misunderstood you then, my bad.GiantRaven said:gog.com - DRM Free. Do not need to utilise gog.com service in order to play a game. Implies actual ownership of a game.Sp3ratus said:Well, there are online game retailers, Steam is one I can highly recommend.
Steam - Essentially a glorified DRM service. All games are tied to Steam. Does not imply ownership of a game.
Let's just say I'm not quite ready to get in on the whole glorified licensing trend that's going around right now. The prices might be great but for me personally, that doesn't make want to use a service where I don't feel like I actually own what I pay for.
To be fair, PS:T does contain about 900 pages worth of text.. which is actually slightly less than Game of Thrones. Which is an absolutely massive book.Hazy said:I bought a really good book from there, maybe you've heard of it, it's called "Planescape: Torment"
Jokes aside, yes, they're straight.
And PS:T, barring the combat, is excellent.
