If you could go back in time and change one thing (let's say about your own life), what would it be and why? Or would you want to keep everything as it is?
I would probably change the way things went down with this one girl I knew...
I don't want to bore anyone. =)

I'd go back in time and shoot my younger self in the face, just to see what happens.

Also, you have intrigued me. What went down with this girl?
The entire story or just the summary?

I would go back in time and try to teach myself to be more confident and run away from child-minders that had to look after me for 11 years so that I would actually develop social skills in the early parts of my life.

I'd go back to the day I was born and stomp on a butterfly. Just to see what happens.

That gave me an idea, what if I had found the inspiration for Gordon Freeman and killed him before valve managed to use him as a figure. What would Gordon then look like?

I would go back to when I was a small child and teach myself calculus. I'll know it would have caught on if I find myself becoming progressively more adept at mathematics.

I'd give myself a Lion bar, just so I could laugh at my 3 year old self trying to eat it.

See, I'm kind of torn. On the one hand I was totally timid and not outgoing all through high school, so I'd like to go back to the beginning as I am now, because I'd probably have a lot more fun. On the other hand I love how things are right now, so I'd be scared to change anything drastically.

I don't mind, up to you.
Okay, I moved around a lot and went to a bunch of different schools. Then, while living in Minnesota, I met this really great girl. We were on standby for about 3 years (no idea why we didn't get it going earlier) and I had to move back to Germany right after our first date. I was still pretty unexperienced and didn't catch her hints, until many years later (half a year ago) when I found her on facebook and asked her how she felt about me. Then I decided to come visit her (couple weeks ago) and we really got along. It was the best week of my life! Once I got back to Germany I talked to her and asked her if she still had feeling for me. In my opinion it really sparked between us, but she said she doesn't have feelings for me anymore. Now I feel like such an idiot for thinking we were actually becoming a couple. I feel like it would have been better if I hadn't found her on facebook. It wouldn't have whirled up old feelings and complications.

Well, it did lead to the best week of your life. If we had hindsight we'd all be much better human beings, but we don't, so don't beat yourself up over something you could never have seen coming, especially when things were going so well. You have no real reason to feel like an idiot for thinking you were becoming a couple, especially if that's what the signs were pointing to.

Even the bad moments of life aren't worth sacrificing. They make us who we are, and can lead to good things, such as that week of your life). Anyway, I don't mean to nag at you or anything, I just like attempting to help people when I can, as futile as it may be :)
Thanks! I just wish I wouldn't have asked if she had feelings for me. Sometimes staying in the unknown is better than knowing everything.

Then you probably would have wondered whether she did or not. It's probably better you had some kind of conclusion on it, even a negative one, rather than let it wander around your mind.
You're probably right...
Damn it!

I would probably punch my younger self in the face for being such a shy, afraid-to-take risks pussy so that I would just not care about things at lets say age 12 versus age 16 when it happened in reality.

Well If I could go back and change one thing in my life...
I honestly don't think I would change anything. Maybe just go back and time and show my younger self the awesome stuff we have today, just to mess with myself.

Whay has nobody said this yet?

Memorize the latest lottery numbers, and go back to last week and buy myself a lottery ticket with the winning numbers.

I'd go back in time and kick the crap out of everyone who antagonized me... I would then go back further before I did so and return to my own time, you know, so there'd be no consequences (assault charges are serious business).
