Good Endings for games

Persona 3 and Final Fantasy X. Their endings were so bittersweet, had me depressed for days D:
Persona 4 was good, but not as good as P3.
Mass Effect definitely has to go on this list. Once I finished it, I felt like such a badass.

Oh, and Kingdom Hearts. The ending was very touching and it made me want to continue the story sooo badly.

I'd say DA:O had a good ending if you were a human noble...and took Morrigan's offer.

The original Deus Ex has amazing endings. I really stopped to think about the consequences of my actions when I played it. The new one is good too, just not as much. Metal Gear Solid 3 was great too.

Two that immediately come to mind is the 3rd Professor Layton game (first time in a long time I got so emotional over an ending to anything) and Portal 2

Portal 2 had an amazing ending, one of my favorite in recent memory.
Bastion's was pretty great as well.

xenosaga 3

Well, I guess it's good in the sense that it ends in an epic way. Still, there are a lot of things that just go over everybody's heads and the story is just like, "Good. Let's just get to the main attraction and get it done."

I believe that Xenosaga 2 is partly to blame because it gave away too much in terms of story and it forced the Xenosaga to just end with a third installment. Seriously, when Xenosaga 1 was released, it's creators stated that they would make the Xenosaga series 7 games long, and about halfway through Xenosaga 2 I could understand why. After the first title, the next 6 games would focus on each of the protagonist and their role in the way the universe turned out and what role they will play in the future. But by the beginning of the third installment, it becomes clear that many of the protagonists roles become small and forgettable, and are just here for the ride.

Hey people who beat ME3, does Bring Down the Sky end up mattering? I can't play ME1 because of it and am tempted to just delete it and start a fresh campaign.

You meet the Batarian bad guy briefly in the Citadel(provided you don't kill him of course.I imagine if you do kill him ME3 will substitute a generic Batarian)and are given the option of killing him or persuading him and the leftovers of the Batarian fleet to join you.

To be honest unless you're a completionist when it comes to the war assets it really only plays a tiny part

Why is Bring Down the Sky stopping you from playing ME anyway?

Yeah, Portal 2 was fairly excellent throughout.

One of the things that seldom gets mentioned about Portal is that in spite of their reputation for zany humor they are both profoundly melancholy games.

Bioshock and NIER had a great endings.

Can't say about NIER, but the ending of Bioshock felt pretty stupid, dragged on and felt rushed, compared to the rest of the game.

Fun game(s), but there's still room for improvement.

Clearly, Zhang He's ending in Dynasty Warriors 5 is the greatest ending ever...

I think all games should end like that.

Max Payne 3 ended pretty well. I liked most of the endings in the GTA series. Modern Warfare 3 also had a pretty satisfying (and wholly ridiculous) ending.

I maintain that the endings to both Half Life 2 and Halo 2 were fucking awesome. I love cliffhangers when they're done right, and these are both fantastic examples of that. Infamous 2's endings were both quite good as well.

OH! And Portal 2 probably has my favorite ending in a game of all time, ever. Every time I beat that game, I find I can't stop smiling. It's a great feeling.

Uncharted 2 is one of my favorites. The ending had me laughing myself silly.
