Minecraft on peaceful. It's like the Zen garden of games.

Or either Left 4 Dead on easy. Murder ALL the zombies.

It strikes me as curious that for so many people the way to release stress is to put themselves in situations where it's encouraged. Me, I play Viva piñata, theme park world or something like that, relaxation is better for reducing stress than stress.

Fairytale Fights
Halo Reach
Medal of Honor
Fable II

I guess I like killing and hacking to lower stress levels.

It depends on how much time I have to destress myself.

If i'm busy a familar 2D / 3D shooter like REZ HD or a racer does the trick, something that doesn't require too much thought while still satisfying to play in short bursts.

If I have longer to play games then something like a RPG for escapism

WH40K Space Marine gets my vote.

Nothing more stress relieving than smashing your thunder hammer into an Orks face. :3
i prefer the chainsword finishers my self, sure it doesn't hit anywhere near as hard, but its fucking BRUTAL to watch, like the one where the chainsword is digging its way through an orks chest to run it threw.

I actually found Journey really relaxing, especially the glowy tower level. I can feel my pulse drop and my breathing slow floating around in the place.
Ironically just yesterday I was feeling really wound up and just needed a fun game to play, and out of all the ones I tried, Journey was the best. There's something about floating around, skating on sand, and just the whole calming aspect of the game that makes it incredibly relaxing.

However, my go to game is Armored Core 4a with a dual blader. Especially with the lightest most agile build you can make. Oh the destruction I have wrought
