Good games with NO replay value

The first Lego Star Wars, Prey (it's a meh game anyways, and there is NOTHING to go back and do if you've got it on PC- no achievements, no secrets, no collectibles, nothing), and Tomb Raider: Anniversary to an extent- to get all the good cheats you have to get 100% completion or at least storyline completion, so there's no real point in bothering unless you just want that 100% completion.

-Half Life 2, as good as the scripted events and story were, the gameplay sucked and were stringed along by one gimmicky section after another.

-Portal, when you have a puzzle solved, there really isn't much fun in doing them again just to hear Glados' voice...=/

-Heavy Rain, I can only bare putting up with a string of QTEs just for the story.

Now for games I find myself going back to over and over:

-Fear 1, I still haven't found a game where the shoot outs are as fun as this.

-Gears 1, as dumb as the story is I'm just addicted to headshotting locust.

-Fallout 3, the immersion factor and the fact I'm pretty sure I haven't seen everything keeps dragging me back to this game.

Lesson learned here: an engrossing gameplay is what makes the difference, and games like the first three on my list just didn't hold up for a second play though as good as their stories were.

neverwinter nights: the ability to jump straight to the best parts meant there was no reason to slog through the damn "find the cure" part and the "find the magic words(which are made of stone!?)" sandbox.
Neverwinter Nights has the most replay value of any game I've ever known... it's that damn toolset I think.

I think it would ruin it if the killer was different each time, it would make it less real :)

God of War 3 for me. I played it because it got good reviews and I was curious to know how they would continue the putrid story from GoW2 and end the story of Kratos. I beat it on Titan the first time through and got all the trophies, and after finally seeing the crappy conclusion there was nothing in the entire game that I wanted to do again for fun.

I should have rented it. Live and learn.

I'm surprisingly having a tough time replaying Mass Effect 2. Which is odd considering I played through the first at least five or six times.

Bioshock is the easiest one I can think of in recent memory. Could probably think of some more, but I'm too tired right now.

Any of the Metal Gear series. The story and game play has always been above average. However, you can only go through it once, maybe twice, before it gets a bit boring.

You could argue that MGS4 has more replay value than the others because of the rewards for different titles, but I can't bring myself to go through it a third time because I already know what's going to happen.
Do you mean the Metal Gear series or the Metal Gear Solid series? The Metal Gear series preceded Metal Gear Solid. Actually, after a quick bit of googling I have found the rest of the internet disagrees with me.

Oh well, say what you want but when you say "Metal Gear" without the "Solid" on the end I think of this. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Gear_%28video_game%29]
I don't consider Metal gear and Metal Gear: Solid to be two different series'. I usually just say Metal Gear to mean the series in its entirety.

I'm going to throw a really surprising one out: Mass Effect 2.

I don't know why, I played Mass Effect 1 a few times over, but I just can't bring myself to play Mass Effect 2 over again. I get half way through and then just get bored and move on to another game. Despite the large amount of content, it's very very linear, and you can go through most of the conversation options in your first go. I went Paragon the first time, so the only thing there is for me in a second playthrough are some Renegade actions/lines of dialogue.

There really is surprisingly low replay value in that game, at least for me. But it was a fantastic 40 hour first play through, no doubt.
How did you get 40 hours out of it? I can barely manage 24...
OT: Modern Warfare 2(single player). It was hard to play it again, but I really wanted the veteran achievements.

Dragon Age Origins. Despite that there are three races and professions to choose from as well as some other stuff, I can't get myself to make another character and start over. And if I wanna continue the game with the same character, I gotta fork over $80 to download the other half.

Fallout 3. I remembered just about everything by the time I was done with the game (DLC included), and I have no intention to make another character. Too much time.

Oh, and any game that doesn't allow me to start a new game with all the goodies I've earned/bought doesn't see much, if any more time in my 360.

oh... this is a fun thread. I would have to say starting a new character in a Monster hunter game. I have tried to make a secondary character and played for about an hour, then gotten bored and went back to my main file where I have just over 120 hours.

That or God Of War 3... ugh, I keep starting it on chaos and stop playing after the massively epic battle with Poseidon. I think I've played that boss battle a good 5 or 6 times :p

I agree with arkham asylum. I bought it, I'm glad I did, but I have no urge to play it again. I just use it as a bargaining chip with which to borrow other games now.

Half Life 2. Before acheivements.
You know, I strangely keep coming back to that game. I've completed it easily about 4 times, without feeling it was boring me in any way.

Plants Vs Zombies. I love that game and all the mini games and stuff, but it was so hard to go through it again to unlock the Yeti Zombie achievement. After the first time it is just hard to play because it is pretty much the same strategy constantly...

GUN.

Remember that game? It was a sandbox third person cowboy game developed by the makers of Tony Hawk, and when it came out, it was actually pretty good. The shooting was good, the gameplay was tight, the lands were varied, and the only real problems with it were that the map was quite small and that the story moved far too fast for its own good. But all in all, it was good. The first time.

I recently tried to replay it, and it's almost impossible. Despite being a sandbox game, it's depressingly linear, and there really isn't as much to do as it seemed the first time.
ah I remember that game I loved it
it would be that game, no more heroes, and mad world

I don't want replay value, I want continued play value. I've unlocked all my shit, let me use it.

true, and having the 'biggest gun' on the whole play through while situational added a bit of unexpected challenge ( boss fight with Arjet where you have destroy the AI an not the Orbital Frame, kind of a pain when you kill it 3 hits and you miss judge distance >.>;;)
That particular battle, while refreshing, had me cursing with every new playthrough. What the hell?! Can't hit it too much, have to escape its devastatingly powerful charged attack, and time my grab perfectly to hurt my actual opponent? Cool idea, but the first time I faced this boss I roared myself hoarse.

That was a huge disapointment.

Alan Wake is another. Infact any survival horror type game is. Once you know the monster is around the corner it loses its appeal.
Had that experience with the first Dead Space. However, it wasn't because I knew what was coming that I didn't want to play it again. It was me asking myself, "Why are you subjecting yourself to this sort of mental torture again?!?!"

I really liked star ocean.
So I though that I would try and play it agian, but becuase it based mostly around the story it was very boring the second time becuase you know exactly what is going to happen.
