I'll second Archer... though I have a tough time getting past the "Hey, isn't this Frisky Dingo?" thing...

Young Justice also looked promising, though like many modern superhero cartoons, it'll probably not last very long. >(
It would be a shame to lose young justice, as it is a solid show, and a mythos not properly explored in animated format. Im thoroughly enjoying it. (plus aqualad, the new version they made for the show i might add, is really cool)
I only caught episode 1 so far, but from the looks of it, it looks really good! But I just get bummed out cause all the great superhero shows seem to have an unnaturally short lifespan. Hopefully this one sticks for a while.

Gumball looks promising based off of the preview. If you live in France, know French, or don't mind reading subtitles, Wakfu is very much worth watching.

Yes. They officially have the best joke in an animated show. A kids show no less.

Phineas and Ferb are just standing there as we see them either thinking or listening for something and Phineas just says "huh, I guess it does make a sound".

I don't get it. Sorry if I'm missing something completely obvious... Oh well, I haven't even heard of Pineas and Herb so I guess that's par for the course.

You know who else loves Regular Show? MY MOM!
Seriously though, I love it, and the new Avengers cartoon.

None of you have ever heard of, let alone seen, LEAGUE OF SUPER EVIL.
And for that I pity you.
Excuse me, but that show is awesome. Very nice indeed.

A bit older show, but I recommend the Canadian series 6Teen. Made by the Total Drama Island people, but it is actually funny.

I apologize. I am not very good at explaining anything(especially sight gags). It was a throw away joke that is quite under appropriated in my opinion so there sadly aren't any clips of it that I can find(I can just find the full episode). They are referring to the philosophical question "if a tree falls in a forest does it make a sound". It takes a minute for even the viewer to get it, but it is hilarious

Quite a few... Regular Show, Young Justice, My Little Pony... Gumball, from the one episode I've seen, has potential...

Adventure Time. duh
After watching the commercials for both of those shows, I can say quite honestly that they made me cringe. I did not even crack a smile. It was just downright...well, stupid. Sometimes, even in the previews at the movie theaters, they play Adventure Time adverts.

It really is painful to watch. Is that was passes for quality programming nowadays? Wow, if it does, then boy am I sure glad I own the complete series of both Courage the Cowardly Dog and Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

[small]OT: I have no recommendations for new cartoons. I stray far away from My Little Pony, sorry. Nothing in the past decade has interested me. Call me high on nostalgia, but I just don't see the appeal.[/small]

If all you watched was the commercials, you are a bit misinformed, because despite the utter stupidity of their commercials, they are good shows. For some reason, it seems kids these days prefer obnoxious and irrevelant things, because almost every commercial for these shows focus on the part of the episode that has the least to do with the actual story.

Even though the majority of cartoons out now are... well... crap, there at least a few good shows:

Phineas and Ferb- arguably the smartest show on Disney.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold- it's gloriously Silver Age-level cheesy and revels in it.
Young Justice- I'm trying to get more into this one, especially since I loved Teen Titans.
Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes- another great comic book-based cartoon, that's fun to watch.
Generator Rex- An awesome show with lots of action, good characters, and weird monsters.
Scooby-Doo: Mysteries Incorperated- This ones takes the "Solving mysteries" cliche and turns it on it's head, making for a very interesting watch.
Adventure Time and Regular Show- Very weird and surreal, yet highly entertaining.

Also, I don't get why "My Little Pony" is such a big deal... but then I'm not into that girly crap. Give me "Transformers" any day.

EDIT: ...Okay, now that I've seen "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", I admit that I actually like it... so please disregard the above comment.

Rocket Monkeys is my personal favourite new cartoon of 2012, Its a well written nicely animated proper fun show in the golden age tradition, its fun for funs sake and doesn't waste time on morals lessons political correctness or any of that, Only available in Canada at the moment though it should be airing in the US before long.

I find it the only "slacker show" worth watching

Adventure Time is Awesome. Thundercats was great in the remake, Sym-bionic Titan was awesome, and Young Justice was on the good side of average.

On the more adultish side...
Archer is good...Bob's Burgers...good

Adventure Time.

The creativity and heart the show has is encouraging.
Pendelton Ward get's it, kid's don't need to be patronized and talked down to, they are smarter than most think.

Plus Ron Perlman as a time traveling lich who's a part of a consistently developing back story that explains why the world is the way it is.

And Tom Kenneys best role in years in my opinion.

It's been said here a few times but Adventure Time.

I love how well written and funny it is.

Some of the more serious scenes can be amazing. (The ending scene in "I remember you"? my god, I cried)

I do enjoy all the goofy junk in between but really that's what I love most about it too. The over arching story and fleshing out of the characters. The Lich, I remember You and Holly Jolly Secrets II.

Aside from Adventure Time, Regular Show and Archer, I'd say the Venture Bros.

It's full of actual decent 'nerd humour', as opposed to the Big Bang Theory which seems to be more like "Haha look at how dorky they are!"
