I wonder if they consider the PC releases of FF7 and FF8 to be "good old games" that they wanted included in this number. They would score some points with me if they released those.

Then when they finally get 500 games:

"PSYCH BITCHES! WE WENT BACK IN TIME AND MADE MORE OLD GAMES! WE CAN CONTINUE FOREVER!"

I'm fucking calling it!
Or know since time keeps going on, and new games are released each year that means every year there a new (old) games that qualify as "good ol' games" under whatever abitrary rules they used to decided them.

I'm thinking that when they're done with good old games, they'll launch a sister-site called "not so bad old games". Lots of those around.

Followed eventually by "crap old games", where you get a bundle for nothing. Also, seriously, where are the old DOS games?

They really need to decide to be dead or alive. Not both.
What if they want to be undead?

OT:
Give me a call when they put System Shock 2 and Planescape: Torment on that site.
YEAH! Lich King FTW!

Sorry, my inner nerd got the better of me...

Certainly there are more than 500 old games around. Must be more like 5000. However, some of them are probably just too old. Hello Infocom. Also there are lots of abandonware sites around that offer this stuff for download as well. I don't know about there legal status, though.

That's my personal "top 24 By year" every year from 1994 to 2000. I don't see the point including 2001 and onwards as all those games support Windows XP which by extension includes the latest Op Sys windows 7 so no emulation needed. That's the main feature of GOG, the guarantee of full functionality with modern PCs.

What's he talking about? As time passes more and more games become "good" and "old" as new ones are made.
