Techno is such a vague term to anyone who isn't heavily into dance music it seems. My favourite artists that I guess sort of fall under the term techno are Androgyn Network, Donkey Rollers, Angerfist and Deadmau5.

I never got on with 'clubby' music, hated it as derivative stuff which seemed to just put a beat behind someone else's speeded up work and then give a chipmunk vocals duty.

Big Beat was my genre of choice, as in

Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Fluke, Bentley Rhythm Ace.

(especially those guys, because they feel like they're doing it for FUN! I went to see them live at glastonbury, and there's just constant waves of childish joy radiating from the stage when they play)

If you've played the older 'Wipeout' games, most of the soundtrack was my kind of thing.

Only things that I suppose could possibly be construed as techno that I like are Daft Punk, Faithless, The Prodigy and Pendulum. Horribly vague genre techno...

Not exáctly techno, but awesome nonetheless: Infected Mushroom. For example, Vicious Delicious [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgtDHqWmSnc], especially the buildup wich starts at like 3:56 till 5:51 or something. Think the correct term is psytechno or psytrance, not sure but it's awesome anyway.
