Hello fellow Escapists. I recently went to university and I still live with the parents. However, me and a friend have sorted out a flat for next year because he has to leave halls of residence in his second year and I decided to help him out by moving from home into a flat; but it has come to our attention that we can't afford just the two of us and so we put an ad online and have found another 3 room mates. However, these new room mates happen to be 3 insanely attractive girls.

My current situation is that I know I am going to be uncomfortable living with 3 women, especially ones that look like these. Although I don't want to leave my friend, I am having Second Thoughts about leaving home. The new flat is about a 5 minute walk from where I currently live, so my parents aren't too thrilled about it.

So Escapists, any advice? How do I break it to my parents that I am leaving them to live with three very attractive strange women?
Also, have any of you left home, and if so, what does it feel like? Do you ever get homesick? I know I will be 5 minutes away but I still think I will miss it.

Any advice will be most appreciated, thanks.

Don't tell them , there is no need to tell them you are living with 3 girls.

Don't mention the women, that's my advice. Replace it with three men, or you joined a ferturnity. Or you could just tell them. I bet they want grandkids.:D

Wait, you agreed to rent a house with your friend, put the ad online, and got everything set up...without even telling them? Come on man, that's pathetic. They raised you and took care of you for god-knows-how-many years, and you don't even tell them when you're planning to fucking moving out?

I guess it's too late for this speech now though. The fact that you're having second thoughts at all means that you know this isn't a good idea. And I'm guessing your parents will say the same thing. What does this tell you?
They knew I was moving out, that is why they weren't too pleased because it is only 5 minutes up the road. What they don't know, is that i'm moving in with 3 girls and I really don't know what to tell them, they likely wouldn't believe the truth, they'd probably think i'm leaving them to get laid...

I don't have any experience, but I imagine living with three women you find attractive might become bothersome. You need some space to be yourself, right?
You can hardly lie on the couch in only your shorts, watching anime and eating cheetos when there is at least one attractive woman watching at all times.

I live on campus at uni and its great, I probably spend 3 and a half months of the year at home with the parents.

It sounds like you have a great opportunity set up in front of you, so go for it. Life gets better once you leave home and start doing things for yourself. Of course you will get home sick, but it depends on how much you want to get out. My homesickness lasted a total of 5 minutes :p.

......you lucky bastard

If your true problem is telling your parents that you're living with women, perhaps tell them that the girls are really ugly? I really don't know what to say. I've never heard of such a situation before.

Just tell your dad.
He should understand ;P

More seriously though, have you told your parents that your moving out? If not then thats a pretty stupid move on your part. You don't want to blindside them with something like this, it just gives them the impression that your not ready. Plus I'm sure they would just like to know that their child is moving into a new place with a friend. If you haven't told them yet, tell them now. Because the longer you wait, the worse they'll react.

If you did tell them, well just go with it I guess. Tell them what you feel is important. If they trust you enough to move out, I'd say they would trust you enough to be smart about it all.

And don't worry too much about living with 3 attractive women. You'd feel nervous or whatever by living with 3 people you've never met, regardless of who they are. Just give it time is all I'm saying.

This is exactly what I mean, I will constantly be on-edge in case I do or say the wrong thing. I know i'm going to be uncomfortable, but I don't want to leave my friend with them alone because hel feels the same way. It was supposed to be a lads flat with beer cans and pizza boxes lying all over the floor but now that we are the minority, God knows what will happen.

Tell your parents you're a player now. Why would you really need to tell them anyways?
If you're lucky, you can get all 3 of them insanely drunk and **** ******* *** ******* ****** and then ****** until the **** *******.

Living with hot girls is not nearly as fun as it sounds. Expect a lot of partying, noise, and mess. My girlfriend lives with two hot college girls and I could kill them.

And then you find out they weren't insanely hot girls after all, but perverted, fat, balding old men who have tricked you into living with them.

Wups, I misread your Original post. I thought you were bailing on your pal for these girls' sake. Well, if you're going to be living with another guy in addition to the girls, I imagine that could make things a bit easier. The original argument stil holds, sure, but chances are you might be able to find some guy-time when there is another man living there with you.

Just, for god's sake, avoid walking out of your bedroom in a daze with morning wood.

It also depends on how comfortable you are around women, of course. If you are able to act naturally and not really by bothered by the presence of girls, I suppose it might work out better for you.

It'll be fine, I'm sure. At uni this year, I lived on the residence where you had to cook your own meals... As such, there were at least 4 attractive girls to every guy on this particular residence. It's really nothing to worry about, and I'll be living there next year too (though for my 3rd year I'll be getting a flat),

I've never really gotten homesick myself (the last time I can remember being homesick was when I was about... 8, I think?), which makes it a lot easier to have my residence about 3 and a half hours away from my parents. :p

Just tell your parents, I think, but don't say "Oh, and btw, I'll be living with 3 insanely attractive girls". Just tell them you're living with one of your friends, and had to get a few more people to help pay for the rent.

Well, your parents might just be fond of you, you know. To them, you're one mouth less to feed and pay for. And it's a good thing you're moving in with 3 other girls. I think it would have been worse actually (to them at least) if you were to move in with 3 other boys. (5 guys in 1 place, that would be quite a mess indeed).
So unless your parents are the strictest of the strictest kind or would much rather prefer you live with them until you're 40, or live in a 5-man dump, this should all go good.

Are you mad for not wanting to live with three attractive women?
Ok that aside yeah I was in university and live in a university property flat and live with two other guys for the first and third years (second year I live with eleven others which I sort of regret choosing).
Just being frank, you will truly feel independent when you are not living with your parent, it's a wonderful feeling doing and living out yourself that is if you are mature enough to handle it. The only time I felt home sick was during my first night sleeping in that flat.
I can only suggest that you say to your parent that you want more proper independent and you will be mature enough with your room mates but don't take my words for it.
