Isn't the 25th anniversary of something more recognized than the 65th anniversary? Also, more people are alive to remember playing Tetris than storming Normandy.
I realize that a major event of World War II deserves some recognition, but Memorial Day was only two weeks ago and that's far bigger than a single battle that many non-Americans contend was not as important as some earlier battles in the war.
Ultimately, it's conservatives wanting a huge, multinational company to honor an American event because "patriotic" American companies do so.
Also, I saw NO MENTION WHATSOEVER of D-Day this June 6. It's not just Google's fault.
