Yes, noticed it today. Totally awesome.

For those who think this has been for some time, you might be confused with the auto-fill thingy. It's that, just more awesome.

What we're talking about is whilst you are searching, say; "why is there" you'll see "fuzz on a tennis ball" 'added' to the search, and if you look down, google has already searched for "why is there fuzz on a tennis ball", and if you continue, e.g. "why is there an" it will close the results, and continue to guess, which would be "an estate tax" and show the according results.

So, instead of just auto-filling your query, and giving you the option to search for that particular suggestion, you actually see the results of the proposed searches in real time.
ty for explaining it, you did a better job than i could.

No problem. Good of you to post this as a thread.

As we know, Googlism is the one true faith. This is simply another act from Her greatness in giving us, the disciples, a quicker means to access Her knowledge. Now, join me in prayer.

Our Google which art in cyberspace,
Hallowed be thy domain.
Thy search to come,
Thy results be done,
On my computer as it is in the WWW.
Give us this search our daily results.
Forgive us our spam, as those that have
spammed up against us.
And lead us not into infected sites,
But deliver us from Trojans.
For thine search engine is the greatest,
and the power,
and the glory,
For search after search.
Amen

[sup]DISCLAIMER: I am not a Googlist, though i thought this might provide some mild amusement.[/sup]

Incidentally i don't know anything about this "search while you type" thing but it sounds like its just begging for an Xzhibit meme.

Thank you. All I understood from the OP's incredibly informative post was "this is awesome", which didn't particularly help.
Hehe, no problem. If I weren't already aware of it I'd probably not get it as well.

Is this it?

If not, can someone explain this properly?
The bottom of the screen displays the results of whatever is currently in the search bar.

So if I wanted to go to Cracked.com, as I would type it int, the bottom of the screen would show what would come up if I searched it, if there's a website called Crack.com, it would show that, and I could think to myself, "A website about cocaine, I should there!" And then I would click on it.

It's showing websites rather than other searches, basically.

Wow, it won't work for me, even on googles own browser, but when it does, is there a way of turning it off? I find these sort of things INCREDIBLY irritating -.-

Go to www.google.com/instant and click on "Try this". This is definitely a new feature that Google just launched today.
I see no difference at all.
Neither do I. Seems to be the same old Google to me. Google still rocks, even though the new images page isn't as fast.

Oh... Well, I guess I'll have to wait until my account gets updated or whatever. This sounds like it could be either useful or annoying.

I'll just wait and see...
