I'm not sure why it's even a thought it wouldn't come out for PC, the PC version sold really well, is widely known for it's extensive modding abilities and such, they're probably just waiting for the PS4 and XBone versions to be finalized since they'd probably be similar in scope.

I'll get it at a Steam sale because I'm not paying full price for a game that will likely be at least 6 months old by the time it gets released.
Is this not the same attitude which prompts publishers to abandon PC ports in the first place?
How is waiting for a sale any different than waiting for a game to be sold used on console?

If they had released it on PC within the same month of the console version then I would have bought it at launch. When I have already heard all the spoilers, heard all the discussions and generally become tired of hearing about the game before it even comes out then I lose interest and won't get it right away. As I said, they are selling me a 6 month old game at full price.

I as a consumer shouldn't simply do what they want me to. They have to show me that they deserve my money. If they want me to buy the game at launch then they have to actually give me the game at launch. Rockstar has already abandoned PC gamers regardless of my attitude towards them. We get old broken games. Ubisoft does at least make sure their games are actually running quite nicely when they're released.

So in conclusion I won't care if they abandon me a this point. I treat them like they treat me. Secondary, unimportant, not worth my time. Doesn't that sound fair?

600000 X $59.99 = $35,994,000

That's not an amount of money to laugh at. Can't wait for it to come to PC. I'm getting it soon as it does.

Right on schedule! Come on, the last time that happened was 14 years ago. Under the circumstances, I really don't think that statement is in serious need of a qualifier.

It is quite different and you well know it.

Atleast when you wait for a sale the publisher and devs still gets your money instead of Gamestop. :p
Took that one out of context didn't you? My point was that waiting for a Steam sale isn't "hurting" the developer/publisher any more than waiting to see a game used.

Sorry, but "always" is a long time - certainly longer than 14 years. :p Maybe this is just me showing my age, of course; there are doubtless people here who don't remember GTA on the PS1, or for that matter GTA2 on the Dreamcast. That doesn't mean that the entire history of gaming began with the XBox, though.

The point still remains; the PC version used to be the one that came first, and now it's a totally tertiary consideration in the publisher's eyes. That's why the qualifier is needed.

Why do people continuously feel the need to openly beg a company for the privilige of giving the company money? Especially if said company has a history if sneering at them, barely able to hide its contempt for that set of customers?
I mean it does cost money to make a port of a game, but yeah, I would assume it would easily make that money back.

Obviously there will be a PC port of GTA V, but I think the conspicuous lack of an announcement for it is so that PC gamers will buckle and buy a PS3 or Xbox version of it now. That way they can put off the extra development time making a port would take until later, and when it does come out on the PC, some people will buy it a second time for the graphics and mods.

Also the publicity from these petitions and such is probably doing them pretty well.

Because the product they get in exchange makes it worth it? simple economy.

The most amusing part of this whole thing is that people honestly believe that a AAA game that made $800M in a single day hasn't already got a PC port planned.
Cough, Red Dead Redemption, cough

But seriously, is it really that hard to have a multiplatform release, including PC to be released on the same day?
Its not hard, its less profitable apperently.
Sitaution 1: you buy a PC game on launch day and play it.
Situation 2: you buy a game on console since that is your last option, you like it but there are amazing mods for it.... for PC version. people do actually buy both versions just for the mods.
