Ok, well with DX10&11 I get higher results then with DX9
I guess that does make sense. My card was designed in a DX9/10 Era while yours was in DX10/11. Interesting results.
Yeah seems to be that way, considering when I oc my card I still only got like 500 score difference in dx9 test

Yeah. It's designed for Vista and 7. Are you running XP? You could try H.A.W.X benchmark. It's a decent tool.

If you are running XP, you can try running 3Dmark 2006.

Ah yes. You'll need a much better GPU if you want to play the latest games on your PC without problems. The best bang for your buck right now would be GTX460. Recommended.

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261077

Same Card, but with twice the memory.

Also comes bundled with H.A.W.X. 2.

Its been ordered now, but redused the size of the monitor to 21 inches because it was 20% off so was much cheaper..

So a 21" fullHD monitor BenQ and Megabyte Geforce GTX 460 ran me about 325 dollars, shipping to the door included :)

Exited!

You guys are all cheating by turning off the AA!! What use is that?

Surely it'd be better to know what you can do in a real-world situation..........unless you all like jaggies at 200fps!

AMD Athlon X3 720
4gigs ram
ATI 4870, 600 core speed, 1000 memory clock.

Could only run 1680X1050...
HAWX2
86fps max, 59 average

For the price I paid ($140 a year and a half ago) it's been the best card I've ever owned.

Why don't you go ahead and try to run Crysis maxed out with 16x AA and tell us your results hmmm?

I don't think you turned off vertical sync. That corrupts the results. You should get much higher FPS with VS turned off since with VS on your fps will lock at your monitors refresh rate which in this case I believe it's 60Hz.

You sound upset that I've pointed out the error in the high-number cock-waving contest!

There's no point in me running a Crysis benchmark as it's of absolutely no interest to me. But when I do game, I like to have at least some form of AA running. To do a test with AA turned off does no good whatsoever, it's just a bragging thing because the massive numbers make people feel better about the huge amounts of cash they've spent on their rigs.

Which totally explains the 86fps. Refresh rate is 75hz anyways. Vsync was off.
Vsync is awesome btw.

Well you've just been upgraded to dickhead, and a presumptuous dickhead at that. Actually I don't recall mentioning anything about "high-number cock-waving contest". People have posted their results and I've been more than happy to compare their results with mine. So either you've got the wrong address or that you're projecting so hard you can point your self at a wall and show off powerpoint presentations.

As I mentioned I own a 130 dollar GTX 260 so saying that I'd " feel better about the huge amounts of cash they've spent on their rigs " is more out of place than going to Sudan in a suit made entierly out of food. And since "There's no point in me running a Crysis benchmark as it's of absolutely no interest to me" I don't understand why you had to come back here and post while i clearly stated in my first post that the only benchmark that you shouldn't use AA in is crysis since it cripples your framerate.

By "cripples", I take it you meant "I built a rig that can't handle it"?

Seriously, running tests without AA is a totally pointless excercise as you'll only be disappointed when you start up a game and it's totally gimped compared to the benchmark results. You'll be saying to yourself (if you're stupid) "but I don't get it, my benchmark said I had 2295fps, why am I only getting 12fps here?"

In the photography world, controlled test shots can be referred to as 'pixel-peeping', looking way too hard at something without taking into account the real-world useability.

You can upgrade me to dickhead if it makes you feel better. The last time I cared what a nobody on the web thought of me was around 2001!
